Ranking the Loudness of Exhaust Systems
By conducting searches, listening to sound clips and asking people, I get the general impression that, in increasing order of exhaust system peak loudness, we have something like this:
(1) OEM
(2) MazdaSpeed
(3) Borla
(4) Racing Beat
(5) Greddy
(6) HKS
I don't know where the RX-8 store exhaust or others fit in, nor do I know if my list is accurate. But it's a start. If you have additions or corrections, please cut and paste this list in your reply, and edit it as necessary.
Some people say the Borla is louder than Racing Beat, but the people at MazdaTrix, who sell both systems, told me it's the other way around. Another vendor agreed with them.

i have ordered the greddy but just got out cause backorder
is a nightmare when you want something as bad as a exhaust.
r/b is available at mazdatrix-in stock ?
btw i have heard the greddy on 8 at acosta motorsports and it sounded very nice.

Greddy is by far the deepest. It has a very good construction also. I have put Borla on my cars for the last 5 years, & I had the B&b cat-back on my 8. This Greddy sounds deep, and great! THe B&B full exhaust is a high-pitched motorcycle. The Greddy full exhaust is like my buddie's 350Z with Borla true dual, headers, intake. They both sound about the same, maybee the 8 a tid bit higher pitched @ the higher RPM's.

Anybody have any idea which one is recommended with the hi-flow cat/resonator setup from Can Zoomer ? I hear that with the Borla it is too loud, so with the Greddy or RB it would be even louder ?

My 8 has re intake, bb midpipe, Greddy cat-back.
His Z has intake, headers, true-dual exhaust. He still has the cat's on.
My car is by far louder than his, his may be a little deeper, but it suprised me at how deep the 8 really sounded. BTW, a stock Z exhaust sounds horrible, it isn't deep at all.
