View Full Version : How does my stock dyno look?
Vasichko 01-29-2008, 05:47 PM So I had this done back in August when it was about 98 degrees outside.
Sorry if its bad quality, I didnt have a scanner here and just found it while going through my file cabinent so snapped it with the digi cam.
I put down 174hp and 125tq.
Look ok to you guys?
Brettus 01-29-2008, 05:53 PM It looks like a stock dyno ...... :)
post it up in the Dyno sticky thread
mac11 01-29-2008, 05:57 PM the a/f doesn't look like a stock graph.
which gear was this pull done in?

?
looks like the sensor was not connected ....
mac11 01-29-2008, 06:03 PM wouldn't that lead to no reading?
mysql101 01-29-2008, 06:05 PM you don't need afr to calculate hp/tq.
the graph looks like a standard rx8 NA dyno chart. Not high end, not low end. Just looks typical.
mac11 01-29-2008, 06:13 PM you don't need afr to calculate hp/tq.
I understand that. I was just noticing that ~15:1 afrs shouldn't be right and I can't remember the AFR's being that flat on a stock plot.
The power plot looks typical.
mysql101 01-29-2008, 06:16 PM i'd say it's impossible for the stock pcm in this car to be that lean in open loop.
MazdaManiac 01-29-2008, 07:16 PM Yeah, that AFR reading is not coming from the car.
That said, having the probe sitting in open air should have read at least 22:1.
Weird.
How sad is it that a perfectly normal, stock dyno plot for an RX-8 yields 174 HP and 125 tq? :icon_no2:
Optical TDI 01-29-2008, 07:19 PM Why does the power and torque dip at two points? One is at around 6300 RPMs.
nycgps 01-29-2008, 07:21 PM Why does the power and torque dip at two points? One is at around 6300 RPMs.
becuz thats when some of the port opens.
MazdaManiac 01-29-2008, 07:26 PM First dip is the SSV opening. The second is the APV.
Kinda sad that a power adder takes away power first.
I'd call that crappy tuning, but there is really nothing you can do about it with just fuel and spark.
Since Mazda has a stepper motor on the APV, they should have it open gradually.
Brettus 01-29-2008, 10:35 PM Kinda sad that a power added take away power first.
.
agreed - but according to THIS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0) Mazda already considered that .
mac11 01-29-2008, 10:43 PM you're an ass! :lol2:
chickenwafer 01-29-2008, 10:43 PM Damn!

MazdaManiac 01-30-2008, 12:44 AM FAIL! I know you've been trying to get me back on that one Brett, but you will have to keep trying.
Brettus 01-30-2008, 12:52 AM :banghead: i'm sure you would have fallen for it if not for the comments after :banghead:
