RX-8s Official Cool Guy
A 3 Rotor engine means the engine has 3 Rotors unlike your 2 Rotor Renesis. It has a slightly higher displacement, compare it to a piston engine. The higher amount of pistons normally the higher amount of displacement. The 3 rotor engine is a great track engine and a few people have done swaps for it for that very reason.

Tailgaters beware
I'm still kinda new to the Rotary modification world myself too, so don't sweat it when people give you a hard time on here.
From my 1 1/2 years in the Rotary world I learned tha with this car it doesn't seem to be very easy to add HP. Mainly because Mazda did a great job extracting a lot out of the car to begin with. But you can start with the normal stuff like intake, exhaust, and an Engine management system. It looks like most people get around 25-35 rwhp with those alone. I myself with just a full exhaust and drop in K&N filter gained 18 rwhp. It looks like for you to gain anything more than 35 rwhp you would need a turbo, or supercharger, or nitrous. Have Fun.
