Ok, so how is this thread better than the other

I would suggest placing links on your first post, for Solo2 website, as well as any sites that Ulllose can come up with regarding Solo2 rules/regulations.

You could always put up RX8 Cup info on the first thread as well, so we can track those who are previous cup holders.

Here's a summary of classes you can run with the 8. Feel free to contribute. When you start getting to SP and SM the rules start getting messy.

Street touring: STU

Wheels: Any size that will fit
Tires: Up to 275mm wide, with minimum 140 treadwear rating (no r-compounds)
Suspension: Shocks, springs, both anti-roll bars, bushings
Engine: Intake, full exhaust w/ cat required, pulleys, ECU programming
Body: Body kits, spoilers, etc
Other: Front seats, shifter kits, battery relocation

Street prepared: BSP

Wheels: Any size that will fit
Tires: R-compounds allowed, any size
Suspension: Springs and shocks, sway bars

Body: Spoilers, no wings or side skirts
Other: Front seats, steering wheel, shifter, battery, etc

Does the RX-8 cup extend to San Diego events? Maybe there will be a divisional cup for SD.

How 'bout putting a blurb about the next event with a link on the main post too?

I think RX-8 Cup should be ........... 3 or more drivers?.... maybe 4 or more???? what do you guys think?

I dont know about SD??? I dont think I will start running there any time soon due to schedules, but I think if you guys down there have the right number of people that would qualify as an RX-8 cup... right?

Yeah, we don't really need a cup. It's usually me and Jason, with occasional guests. If Keith comes down again, we could do an SD cup.

I wonder if we should exclude SM???
only reason I left it, is for us BSP/STU guys that might run it in the future. (like Toca, or Keith if he is forced to)
they really need to have a class that is BSP and STU combined. (BSP rules with body kit would be great)

I still cant get over the HUGE spoiler, but no wing thing. all well, If you want to play their game, you have to play by their rules right?

The cup is just for fun. Unless some guy comes out with a turbo and smokes us all, then it doesn't really matter. Like I said before, we could always go to PAX... which I might be in favor of if you guys keep modding at the rate you're going.

hey what do ou guys think about a very small shot of nitrous for auto cross? somehting liek a 40 shot. safe, hardly noticable, but still more power then stock.

would have come in handy on the last track. (and yes I know nothing beats seat time) just curious.

Most clubs wont allow a nos bottle in the car at an autox. One time on a Sat night in PHX we were setting up a course for our Corvette club and I test drove it in our Miata with a 50 shot of nos... The next day none of the vettes, even mine, could beat the time the Miata put down on the bottle.

Maybe the SD Cup can be the red housing

And then if you are really good (i.e. Ulllose) you can win both the SD and Fontana events in the same month and have both the rotor and housing

PAX does not give us an advantage, it gives him more of an advantage...doesn't BS get more handicap when compared to BSP and STU?

Yes, PAX gives us stock guys an advantage, but it does nothing to help me against ULLLOSE. What it does is allow me to beat BSP without actually beating your times.

Some numbers:
BS .822
BS .843
STU .820

STU actually has it the easiest. For a typical 60 sec course, BSP would have to run about 1.25 secs quicker than BS.

STU does not have it easiest though, cause the tires kill you in that class....I know.

Have you or Ulllose ever run on stock tires?

I only meant that STU has the "softest" PAX, not that it was easy to be competitive. Yes, I drove on the stock tires for almost a year. The stock tires suck, but the top street tires (Yokos) are getting closer to r-compounds in grip.

Just did my 30k service and had the dealer put in Redline fluids for the diff and tranny... unfornuately the morons forgot to put the fill plug for the diff back in.

Fluid all over the exhaust and a nice smell to match. I'm stuck at home now and they're not open tomorrow. Hopefully I can get things sorted out tomorrow and make the event Sunday.

Yes street tires suck but the mods in the class more than make up for it. The STU index is weak when you look at the other ST classes. STS and STX cars both have to go faster on ST tires than they do in stock class trim for PAX, STU does not have to go as fast as the stock class cars that make it up, that is why it is weak. I am sure if the class lives that will change over the next few years.
