Mrs. "Joff" here.
I hear you there, the trip back was interesting to say the least. I was dieing to get a picture of the 2 red 8's pulled over on the side of the freeway with a cop between them. I did not want to push our luck with the cop since he was being extremely kind and just giving us a warning. Did you make it back alright with that check oil light? After the cop released us, we met up with the blue 7 and drove most of the way home with them. We stayed at 82 mph most of the time, except for the time we had to show the 7 our new toy.
Great pictures AZLizard of the install, but why did you have to put those pictures of me in there?
We had a great time at 7Stock and are really looking forward to next year.

Because it was an exciting day for you and you were part of the install.

So how fast were you going when he pulled you over?

Wow. Sounds exciting.

I did the first half of the trip with Jeff D. at 80 - 90 MPH and the second half alone at 115 - 135 and I never saw anyone pulled over.
I blasted past Tim in the rental van, but no one else. I saw part of the group leave the 29 Palms stop (or whatever it is called), but I was just stopping for lunch at that point.

You probably passed us as we were gassing up. Course, we had to wait on the lunchers at the previous spot so we lost atleast 20mins of good driving time.

Great caravan home for sure! Easily 100mph 85% of the way, once we got out of CA anyhow!

Hey thanks man! and likewise, I am sorry we all didn't get to hang out more, everybody (including myself) had so much other stuff going on...

BTW, speaking of the camera, you just reminded me that I took some videos with the dash cam! I went outside into the car and watched them... there you are on the first one! Just ***-end shot, but there are some other vids too that have some fly by type stuff of other cars...better than the ones from my hand held bullet cam on my Archos personal media player...

fun stuff.... sorry I missed the high speed run home (and the cops!) but I did have a nice solo drive down the coast to hwy 8, and then a nice clean trek across the desert through Yuma. Nice drive actually... I also checked my tires in Oceanside, and crap they were all around 30psi, and I usually drive at 37-38 psi... ooops...forgot to check them in Tucson before I left...oh well...gas mileage was a bit better after inflating them...and it drove better too... I hate when I do that.

Joe

Yea, I had to keep checking my speedo in the van 'cause the speedo said 85 mph, but everytime a group of 8s and 7s passed me I felt like I was doing 50 mph. Damn. Yea, Jeff (M2) had a serious head of steam built up as he passed me. Great weekend everyone. Just need to get a 4 rotor for that van next year.

I just got back 1200+ miles all together. I had a great time. I think I'm a little tired.

I know Jeff and Ray have and will have a lot more miles than that logged.

Actually, I only did about 1400.
Its Ray that is already past 4000 or so, I think.

MM, I was wondering where you went. I got stuck behind a s-l-o-w-l-y passing semi, and zup! you were gone.

I need to get a radar detector. The going to jail thing bothers me about going +20 in AZ.

But I LOVE to go fast...

And those back shocks are gone. This afternoon I backed out of the drive and rubbed the undercarriage, and I was in the car alone. I used to need some weight back there to get a rub. Time to hunt down some funds!

Yeah, the gap between up started to open up and I got frustrated with the stupidity of those women driving the SUVs.

Holy crap I didn't realize anyone headed back to Phoenix encountered any police.

Somehow our group managed to do between 90 and 110 the whole way and not have any trouble. I thought for sure we were going to get spotted and off to jail it would have been for us.

Hey Dave, glad you like my ****. Real funny Jedi

I will PM you in a minute Dave....

BTW, here is the **** I sold him after I found a MS3 6 speed **** at sevenstockX
for $5 in the bargain bin.....

http://www.monsterknobs.com/mazdashiftknobs.html

Turns out I got about to Camp Pendleton, and the Mazda
**** started making a bunch of noise because the internal faceplate screw was never installed at the factory! That is why it was in the reject bin... But I have since taken it apart and fixed it... I like the MS3 **** better than the stock RX8 ****, except for the Reverse is in the wrong spot on the graphics... sure enough some valet guy or shop guy will put my 8 into a wall...good thing I don't let anyone else drive my car!
