the 40th anniversary 8 had that leather @ the LA Auto Show. It's a weird brownish red color. My buddy's 05 MX-5 has that color; was never a fan.

the metropolitan gray + red leather = multiple personalities- ie don't match.

gray is generally a low-key, bland color. red is firey and energetic. the two clash. i dunno what the **** mazda was thinking. but, whoever approved that concept was probably smoking crack that day.

That is nasty looking.
It does look like the bad fitting MS rear.

I learned a long time ago... Don't get rid of sovething you love or really enjoy.

Life is not pleasant when you have regrets.

I won't be there tomorrow....Erica will be there with the Snowfl3k and will have calendars. Plans changed with the buyer, and money talks....so I will be down in Fountain Valley tomorrow handing over the keys.

I'm extremely upset that I won't be there for one last run, or to see your reactions when you find all the surprises with the new calendar. Enjoy your day and have a moment of silence for Snowfl8k and RXZ88M.

thanks for the salute! I still like seeing pictures of my car all over the place.

soooo..... I wont be there either... sorry guys, I hate to ditch out, but the mechanic called at 10:00 last night. the car is ready!!!!! (i'll belive it when I see it)

so I am going to go get the trailor,
pick up the car,
bring it back,
take the wheels off,
take the wheels and tires down to a shop to get the race tires mounted,
go get oil,
come back,
put the wheels on,
change the oil (its full of fuel),
put the intake box all back together,
do a quick alignment,
make and apply car numbers and class letters....

ALL IN ONE FREAKIN DAY!!! (race is tomorrow)

wish me luck. and sorry I cant be there.

Update:

Razz and Scremn8 showed along with three sevens. Michael couldn't stay - just came to say hi and pick up his calendar. So yeah it was kind of a bust but things happen and it looks like this was just a busy month for everyone. Rglbgl had along night as well - so don't feel bad Jesse - he wasn't able to make it either.

Keith met that kid down in Fountain Valley at 9. He brought his Mom, Dad, and aunt. Everyone loved the car but the parents were under the assumption that today was just a look - see and test drive so they were not prepared to hand over the money today. Keith said that he would rather not allow a test drive until they were ready to hand over money especially considering the kid had informed keith earlier that he has never driven stick. WHAT?!?!? Parent s thought the car was automatic and weren't comfortable letting the kid learn on this kind of car - especially with the clutch and flywheel set up AND the transmission problems it has already had. So right now the sale is a no go. 60 miles to Fountain Valley for nothing.

Just got an email from the kid that he is going to have his friend teach him stick on Monday and see if he can talk his parents into it. We'll see......

What other buyer?

yeah - keith already told him he is not making the drive out again so if they decide to buy the car then they will have to drive out to us. mom expressed how inconvenient that would be for her. OMG!!!! Really??? I mean seriously now....really???? freeway runs both ways bitch

So I did get up before the noon time run down at Sector 111. They do Lotus goodies, so there were almost a dozen Lotus', 4 Ariel Atoms, Ferrari, Lambo, and then me . . . . in a Toyota Spyder. The other MR-s there had the Lotus motor in it. We followed them on their cruise.
It was actually funny, the Ferrari and the Lambo were getting NO attention at all. That woulld have to be wierd . . showing up in a Ferrari, and NOT being the center of attention

Ever wonder what 500HP would be like in a 1000lb car? Well me too .. . . . . . . that owner brought his Porsche instead!
Most of these were stock Honda K20 motors. One was the Supercharged Ecotec (Cobalt SS?) motor

Hello all, less then 24 hours and our flight back home arrives. That is not including the 19 plus hours it takes but hey once I am on the freedom bird NO MORE IRAQ...... well at least until I deploy again.

On to other news, ok as you know I am going FI on my 8. I went to the forum about all the differnet ones they have and what whp they produce. I am at a loss because they all look good but some had a crazy chart that was all jumpy. I have narrowed it to the following: Mazsport, pettit, emeril racing. There were other ones but I could not find the website for them. Any advice?
