The weight savings comes from the wallet, not from the wheels

according to the weather forcast, i highly doubt it will be picture taking weather. unless you get large snow flakes but then you probably wouddlnt be able to go anywhere (chains). With the weather brakes you have a better chance down here in the foothills, then again there is palm springs that always has great weather!

well, yeah, but your comparing a stock wheel with a high end wheel.

take that same advan and compare it with an 18. there will be a little less weigh there. times 4 wheels. thats alot of rotating mass just in the one inch.

I think our Enkeis were what 16.8 punds. that 12 pounds less rotating mass then the advan 19s. (see aht I am getting at here)

then of course you have the extra weight f the tire. you would be suprised how much more a 19" tire weighs then a 18" tire of the same width. and of course the weight is on the outer edge... the worst place to have it.

ok seriously, you get my drift... I'll shut up now.

... ok one last comparison.
the 13" wheels people on the miatas are in the single didget weights! and the tires are just as cute and light.

I still stand by my "if its a street car with street wheels, it's ok" rule of thumb. its for looks. and they look freakin sweet!

ok now I'm done.

I am outa here half day though to go see the dentist. I have never been so happy to see a dentist before. at least I wont be board.

It is so obvious who is busy, and who is not.....as I didn't post much yesterday either....as my Wednesdays tend to be busier for me than any of my other days. Erica always comments that I must not have had much to do given the flurry of my posts.

I was thinking the same thing about your posts today...I was thinking, wow, Casey must not have much to do today

You could always give us the link to the Miata build thread so we can get ourselves updated.

I haven't seen any discussion of xBox360 vs. PS3 lately, so I thought I'd try to stir the pot.

No matter which team you're on, this has got to suck for the PS3 side.

A recent memo leaked from Best Buy says they will no longer offer 80gb PS3, but only offer the 40gb PS3.
http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/24/b...-the-80gb-ps3/

Currently there are only 2 models readily available, 80gb & 40gb.
They stopped selling the 60gb version a while back.
Anyways, some of you may think, 40gb isn't so bad, it's still double the size that comes w/ the Premium xBox360. (the elite has a 100gb)
True, 40gb is plenty of space for saving games, and the PS3 will accept most laptop hard drives so you can upgrade anytime, but the big issue is...

NO BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY!!!

That's right, 40gb versions of the PS3's do not play PS2 games. Ouch!
This is currently the situation over in Japan, because they only get the 40gb, and it looks like it will happen here as well.

ugh, that sucks! If I bought one it would just be to play some of the new games and watch blu-ray.

the ONLY reason why i would buy a ps3 is for the sole purpose of it being a cheap BR player. other than that, 360 all the way

That is pretty much what i am using my PS3 for right now. I got a couple of free games like Heavenly Sword, Lair and i bought Assassins Creed but most of the games i am buying for the 360 like Devil May Cry 4 that is coming up pretty soon. Only games to look forward to is Metal Gear Solid 4 that is set for this june and Final Fantasy XIII which i have no clue when they will release it.

I will not be going to the run. I've been working all week w/ a terrible cold, and everyone at my house is sick too.
I will spend the weekend in bed, hopefully to recover.

Regarding the comedy show, I can pick up the tickets, but they are non-refundable, so if I buy them, I need to make sure people are going and will pay me back.
Also, they don't actually give you a ticket, it's a receipt showing how many people can get in, so we would all have to meet at the same time, or I can buy 4 for you, and get the receipt to you sometime after work.
I'll probably buy them on Sunday night at the Improv, because I think that avoids the service charge. ($17 there VS $20 online)

So, anyone interested, please PM me.

@Casey, I'll call you to confirm on Sunday
@Sherry, you said you might want to go, I'll call you Sunday as well
