if you guys check into the most recent thread Jedi had posted about the clutch pedal bracket Snappage.....you'll see that Abbid added color to the pic I posted....it is still kinda hard to see where it broke, but as Charles hill satted, the gap becomes more evident when the clutch pedal is depressed.
In looking at another pic posted of another failure...it looks like mine was pretty severe. A guy posted a pic of his, and his pedals look like they are in the stock position. My car, is basically not driveable at this point. Good thing I have an extra vehicle....oooops, wait, the truck is sold so I'm **** out of luck. Welll, good thing I don't have naymore chirstmas shopping to do...ohhh wait, I haven't done any yet...CRAP!!!
Jessie...what they did at Mazda was made adjustments to the pedal..they didn't bend anything. There are three adjustments to the pedal which basically adjust engagement point, stroke and "slop". I had too much "slop" and not enough stroke...so the clutch couldn't disengage. I wasn't putting enough fluid (stroke) through the system for the master and slave to move the clutch. They got rid of slop, which made the problem go away.
What I didn't know, is that I had the "squeak" noise that happens as the pedal bracket is about to fail. What the squeak is, is metal on metal grinding when one of the welds has failed.
I brought the car in with a failed weld and they didn't notify me of that failure....only pointing the finger at another failed part. This really bothers me after thinking about it more. This was a safety issue.....
...makes me think about the recent thing that happened with the Snowfl8k as well. Erica toook ehr car in prior to our last cruise to get an oil change...and usually, they give you a paper that shows tire wear, brake wear and so on...well, in looking at the last one, they checked off "not inspected"....well, we took the car the next day to get two wheel studs placed on the right front tire, and the tech stated the car was down to the metal on the front brake pads. Ordered some new pads...and when I went to change them, sure nough....no pad material left and was working metal on metal (another safety issue overlooked by Mazda).
As for cars.....I would love a Mazdaspeed3..but as you can see, it is priced above what we can afford, insurance is more than what I'm paying already for the 8, and gas would be about the same...
The Fit seems reasonable....the Lancer seems reasonable. I think at this point, it is between those two. Pricing is higher on the Lancer. Insurance is about the same on the two.

between the lancer and the fit, i think you'll be much happier with the lancer.... its alot bigger....i recently saw the trunk of the new lancer! holy jebus was it big! but she does have a big ***, so i should have known
get the lancer dont fall victim to the "H"

So . . . I am gonna take a guess or two here
Keith owes (guess #1) $17,000 on his car.
Keith qualifies (guess #2) for 7% on a used car loan.
put that together for 5 years and your payment is $336
Want shorter term - 4 years = $407
So what are the payments on the cars you are looking at?
I know this does not factor in the gas mileage/commuting. But you can go buy a cheap Miata for that

xrider/el nerdo....my brother has a computer related question....heck, anyone else can chime in here as well:
(from my brother):
El Nerdo: Still waiting for that Asus RMA to come back, and been looking at new stuff to bring the speed up a little bit. I bought into the whole "Socket 939" thing when they said it was going to be the top of technology for a long time.. 2000 mhz FSB, DDR2...etc. Well, looking at my choices for processors now, it looks like Socket 939 is as obsolete as any other 2 year old technology.
What's the latest and greatest socket / cpu / motherboard chipset as you understand it? I haven't been paying attention for a couple years, thinking I had the format they were improving on. Turns out, they were abandoning it in favor of something else.
Dual SLI is being abandoned for 3X SLI, but I can't see myself buying 3 600 dollar graphics cards for that.
New build suggestions? I'm an Ubernerd...do lots of FPS gaming and 3d modeling with CAD programs...etc.

This is one reason I stock with video game platforms. I would rather buy system that has support for all games made for that said system. Problem I see with computer gaming, is they often release newer games based on newer technology....eventually, the computer you have won't support the newer games coming out....

Payoff on my car is 17,200. I haven't even checked blue book, just put the car up for the payoff given it seems the gong rate for 8's are between 16-19k. I was hoping my mods would counteract the problem with the high mileage.
Was offered 15k with stock wheels/tires (I can get 1500 for the Volks with a stock swap...I think, I hope). I accepted that offer, but guy didn't come out due to family issues. Hopefully, he'll call me sometime after the new year?

I've been renting it, since I get 2 free game rentals a month from Blockbuster.
5 day rental + 7 day grace period, I get games for 12days at a time.
I just don't like buying games that I know will be obsolete in a couple months.
Everybody is into COD4 right now, but in a couple of months, there will be a new online game everyone is into to, and I'll have yet another game collecting dust.
In a few months we get Star Wars: Force Unleashed, and then GTA4. I'll definitely buy those.
I saw you online last night, and I joined the room you were in. I only got to play 1 round w/ you before they closed that lobby, but we were on opposite teams, so you probably didn't notice. I was trying to kill you though.
