We have our 62" flat screen, the 32" old school in the office, and the ........wait for it.......15" TV Keith got in middle school in my craft room.

Yeah - I think the problem will be TVs......although I will have the projector (note to self: bring home from work) So that will make three "TVs" available.

so, i picked me up a 360 last night, and i'm loving it! . i got the "arcade" version, which is basically the premium minus the 20GB HDD. my friend said he'll hook me up on a 20GB HDD for x-mas though . i still can't get the update because i need the HDD apparently to get it . and, i don't use my TV for it, i got the VGA adapter to hook it up to my 22in. widescreen monitor . only problem was the sound, which i've gotten kinda figured out. i'm using an equalizer for audio input, which works great on my 360's audio, but i still need to figure out which input would be the right one for audio coming from my computer.

Yeah i have a friend who ended up putting a projection screen up in their house and its very cool. I mean with works great when they are playing Mario Party or any game on wii can be fun. Havent tried a 360 game on it but it is worth a shot to see how it is.

Noticed I'm not on the list of meeting attendees. (Corrected)
By the way, Arrowhead is supposed to get 1ft of snow, which means Big Bear will probably get more than that.
Saturday will definitely require chains, and CHP is out in full force when the snow starts.
Idyllwild also has snow in the forecast.
I think a nice casual drive up to the snow for pics would be good. No one wants a ticket or body shop bill for Xmas.
Bring warm clothes, everywhere we might go will be very cold on Saturday morning.

ok, we need some of those on the rock party list to indicate what they are bringing.

Just for some suggestions.....

12 pack of Rockstar
Salads (potato, pasta, macarroni, etc.)
2-liters of soda
bottles of water
chips
dip
condiments (tomato, lettece, pickle, onion, ketchup, mustard...etc)--for hotdogs and burgers

If one of these things sounds appealing, go ahead and add it next to your name so we don't have a big pile of tomatos and no drinks

We do have a Ralphs and Vons right next to the house...so no need to pack them up and have them rolling around in your trunk during the run....you can always pick them up on the way to the party...

My Hard Drive busted last night....."E68...contact an Xbox customer support person".....

not a message you want to see...I had to mail my hard drive to Texas this morning...very minimal chance I will get it back...rather a brand new replacement with none of my game saves

This means, I lose all my game files, all my downloads....all those beautiful car designs I made on Forza.....everything....gone.....

In speaking with customer support last night, he said that Microsoft has recently made available, a kit that will allow you to mitigate information from your existing Hard drive, to a new Hard drive (as a backup). I asked if I could do that with my current hard drive, but he said the nature of the failure suggests that i have corrupt date files....tranfering this to a another hard drive would just cause the same failure in the new drive....so, it looks like I'm back at square one.

I was able to retrieve my gamer profile and placed it on a 64mb memory card...so at least I can play online.....

I'm going to see if I can find information on this product the support person talked about...I think it would be a good idea to have a backup.

I was going to suggest waiting till most the people are at your house, then pool up some $$ and do 1 trip to the store. No duplicates, no useless extras.

Initial search results:

It's called a Migration Kit...

http://xbox360.gamespy.com/articles/783/783557p1.html

More searching/research needed...don't know whether or not a backup can be created....it looks like you need to Migrate/reformat the HD prior to use....so I would think that it would be hard to continuously create a backup. Looks like a one time thing to allow people who currently have 20gb HD, to transfer their info to a 120gb drive.

The support person I talked to last night said that the 20-120 migration kit has been available since shortly after the release of the Elite...and that the 20-20 migration kit was released last week.

Jorge.....Red Ring of Death is infamous with Xbox now....basically all four controller lights flash red, as they circle around the xbox logo....this basically means console failure. Consoles are sent in to Microsoft for replacement at that point.

I'm currently playing on my second Xbox 360...first one failed at about 2 months. Of course I was living on my xbox at the time, in the world of oblivion (Elderscrolls RPG).....This second box sounds horrible and I wish it would actually blow soon too.

This is my first HD failure, but I guess it is not too uncommon actually.

I read a recent article about the 10 biggest electronics failures of 07...number 1 on the list...xbox 360 (failure due to all the equipment failures)...I think there were two apple products on the list...one was Apple TV (which I don't ever remember hearing about).

Yes, got the check...you should have something today....? Let me know.
