i drove my 8 into work this am... at least she started up- tho i did get a TPS alert and had to go fill up the tires. (beamer's in the shop with about $2600 bumper/ grill/ radiator damage. hope they'll get her back up and running soon...)

i want to detail my car b4 ssx too, but with all the crap going on at the house, it might not be possible... <sigh> just have to go with the flow i guess..

Just went around and retightened everything. They feel almost the same as the original. I love the look though. I still need to take a picture or two with stephs car as a reference.

no, not yet. I THINK I might have come up with something but it requires taking out the rear seats and I've just been too lazy.

oh... i c. well, please keep me posted.

<sigh> my car rattles everywhere i noticed. i feel kinda disappointed on mazda's build quality for our cars... u know my friend who has a silver FD just bought a fully-loaded CX-9. and, wow- that thing is nice. i never knew a "mazda" could be so luxurious and nice. the fit and finish is actually comparable to the bmw x-5- ie the leather is soft and smooth and the interior cabin is elegant and not cheap plastic like our cars. looks like they finally got it right. i wonder if the 2nd gen rx-8 will get the same treatment...

i guess i can daydream... the 2008 bmw m3 is looking more and more enticing with each passing day.

i think mazda was more concerned with the performance and handling of the 8 then the interior comforts.

yah, that's probably true. and, they also need to keep the price down. it's not easy trying to get a great performing car and keep the price tag in check. a few less rattles would still be nice though

that’s odd.... I don’t have any rattles... never have. and I have a lowered car that beats the hell out of everything. between the lowered stiff suspension, the 2 12's I had in the back, and the abuse I put that car though on and off the track, you would think if anyone is going to have a rattle it would be me. ???

either that, or I am def and just don’t notice / care...

I also don’t think the 8 interior is cheap at all. one of the big selling points for me was how nice and classy the 8 interior is. take a look at a 350Z or even an Evo... better yet take a look at my Cobalt. the 8 wins hands down in all of the above cars.

Your trying to compare a Mazda to a BMW.... there is a reason a BMW cost more.

I guess its more of what your into. I was willing to sacrifice the prettiness of the RX-8 and go with the raw performance of the Evo because that’s more my style. if luxury is more your thing, then yeah, a BMW would beat an RX-8.

If you want a little power, great handling, a little class, and a price tag that is 30k, then the RX-8 is the best* car for those requirements. (you even get the rarity of a one of a kind engine).

I'm not trying to talk you out of the 8.... I would much rather see you keep it. its a great car. just sounds like you are either to picky, or you need to get your car looked at if it really has that many rattles. but it also sounds like the RX-8 might not be the right car for you considering you are less and less happy with it every day. if in fact you are simply being to picky, then you need to go with a company like BMW or Mercedes. other wise take it to the dealer to get those rattles fixed, or if they cant fix it, bring it over... We'll take care of em.
