No fears Michael... Another Jerry from this forum told me about a specific TSB re: loss of power during hot weather. Since Jorge is the king of TSB's, he should be able to sound in on that? If not, let me know and I'll ask Jerry again for the link. I heard that after Mazda does the fix, your car should be completely back to normal- even when it's hot outside.
I think all car owners that mod their cars know they will have problems. The more you tinker with stuff, the higher the probability you will have some problems here and there. It's just the way things go. Everyone in our group that's done mods has had problems. You just have to decide "is it worth the headache" to you?
I say check out the TSB for the heating thing. And, after u get it fixed if it still doesn't run right, put everything back to stock and test it again. And, if it's ok- then leave it that way. Sure, it wont' dyno as high as other cars. But, peace of mind and reliability is worth more than a pretty penny in my book. Bone stock doesn't mean the RX-8 isn't a fun car.
Hope you get it fixed and stay with us a while longer

the car gets heat soaked. does not over heat but when it's hot out side
she just does not want to pull the way it should.
and only when i drive real far are very hard. so right now its good.
i even chirped the tires friday n second gear, and was happy about it. but i drove to
san berdo sat. for the wedding i went to, got off the fwy way
and no power in third and forth. it took to long to get up to speed.
could be the cat or something else, but not happy about it..
maybe i should have the cat replaced just to see what happens.

Michael....for about 250-300 bucks, why not do a "tune-up" on your 8. New coils, new plugs, plug wires....etc. Couldn't hurt?
Could always be something silly like a bad air filter.......or just could be the result of our California "summer fuel". I know last summer my car ran like crap for a couple of months. I think it was more a function of what additives they put in our California fule than anything. I don't think it had much to do with the summer heat....I added some of that stuff you can buy at Autozone to dump in your tank along with the fuel. I don't know whether it helped or not.

The exhaust is not the problem (physical impossibility) as it is after the Cat.
The Intake is not the culprit either as it retains the MAF, does not change the MAF tubing, and is a closed box design. (ie; does not suck in hot air)
In other words, mods or not, I think Michael would be in the same boat. I bet a round of drinks it's ignition coils gone bad or the Cat.

i think it may be the cat. i just had plugs put in and the car
runs so smooth i grinned from ear to ear. but the darn heat
and that only means when i'm in hot weather driving hard.
if it's hot out and i'm driving normal no problems. so it leads
me to believe the cat should be killed and we give the dog a try...
just means a new cat....

So, the official opinion of RX8club is needed. What do you guys think of the redesigned RX-8, specifically the R3 model?

But it's not called indent, I don't think.
Indent usually refers to the begining of a sentence or paragraph.
Like this.
I just indented this sentence.
However, I did not indent this one.
