One of my best friends runs a Turners Sporting Goods, just gotta pick one and he'll hook me up with a great price.
We went shooting a few weeks with all of his toys and I forget the one I had my eyes on. Damn...

are you going for a 1911 style .45?
Or one of the tupperware pistols?
Also you may want to look in to .45 vs. 9mm.
When I was practicing regularly, I would go through about 1000 rounds per week. The difference in price between the two was about double. The 9mm is a nato round, therefore they can be found super cheap. The .45 cost about twice as much, but does have the stopping power most people are looking for.
Then again, if you are not going to be shooting it too often, all that doesn't matter anyway. So just go with what feels right.
Here is the key -
Hold a gun with comfort. Aim at something a couple times. While keeping the same stance, close your eyes and bring the gun to point/target. Now open your eyes. If you are not almost perfectly on target, or if the gun has turned/shifted in your hand, find a different gun.
And when it comes to brands, I am sure your buddy will point you in the right direction. But just so I can chime in . . . . . ..
BUY A KIMBER!!!!!

^^^ I am always right.
YES WE SHOULD ALL GO SHOOTING. Keith and erica have been with us a couple of times now (we just went on Sunday).
we have a 22 with a nice scope, a M91/30 with a nice scope in the mail, and a M44. we (Michelle) also has a 357, but I dont think we will bring that one out... we will see.
We go shooting in the hills of idlewile, it is LEGAL to shoot there. its nice to not HAVE to go to a range.
anywho, if y'all are seriouse, I would love to join.

my dad has a bunch of guns that were eventually given to me, thing is they are at my moms house in a locker. (30-30, rifle, shotgun and maybe something else) thing is none of them have been fired in some time and soem for sure dont work.
Okay, they are in a safe
If they have not been fired in a while . . . they should be taken out, cleaned and oiled.
I am a shooter, and it is kinda wierd to me that most people here in Cali are not too familiar with guns. I grew up with guns, I competed with guns, and I take car of my guns like most of us here take care of their cars.
BTW - A gun ALWAYS works, and is ALWAYS loaded.

I got some roman candles and a 5 gallon can of gasoline...I'm sure we could figure out something to do with those as well.....
At this point, we are still planning on having a June 21st get together....so go ahead and pencil it in on your Rotorlution Calendars.
I'm thinking a start time of 1:00 pm....until whenever. If you're interested in starting a bit earlier, you know I'm game.

Sparklers
Get some sparklers
and a Piccilo Pete
Well folks, our only opportunity to use these two smilies is now gone. We had a gun conversation, and we all missed out on using a cool little smilie shooting a gun
