I've never seen anyone in our area going through trash, but I'm sure they'll get here eventually.
As long as they don't make a mess, it wouldn't bother me.

the last two weeks it happened at dusk, i take the trash out late becasue they do not use flashlights. this morning they were going through it when i was getting ready to leave. (the trash trucks were in the neighborhood already). i understand they are just trying to get recyceling for money but we recycle our waste already and it is against the law and they have been cited and fined before but i guess they make more then the penalty.

all was safe & sound at the 626 meet sat night. pretty good turn out too. about a dozen + cars- mostly 8's, but a few subies and 6's.
sammy had more knowledge to share about tracking & car setups. so, i think i learned a lot by just being there. the best part of the night though was finding out that the real, actual reason richard gutted the plastic mesh above the rear rotary accent of his stock bumper was to save 3 ounces of weight. lol

thank you for posting those links Loren..I was actually wondering if their was an ordinance in Fontana....glad to know there is one.
On our street, it has been happening the morning of trash collection as well....I'd be interested in knowing how many different groups are doing this, or if it seems to be a smaller group. The group I saw was about 3 to 4 people, and they were driving a purple-ish older model truck (of course). They were not just searching through the blue binds, but the black ones as well.....pushing besides them a wire mess bin that they were placing things in (similar to those bins you find at recycling locations.
People ask why am I worried about this, or why am I bothered....because it invites other things to happen. If there are people in the neighborhood looking for things, there may be something else that catches their eye. It is trash, and my trash....it is not my stuff that I just don't want anymore and would like someone to look through (that is called a garage sale).
Also, we pay a certain amount for trash service, and are given a deduction because we also put out recycleables at the curb. If the company was only picking up trash, and not receiving our recylceables or green waste, they would not receive the federal aide and therefor would pass along the higher prices to us.
PLUS, it looks f-in ghetto.

the definition of property is interesting.....I'm not certain what ordinance it is that they are violating....it may just be a nuisance ordinance.
And, I believe you are allowed to shoot animals if they are in your trash....so maybe this right extends to anything searching through your trash?
I mean, really, who was the first one to come up with the idea of taking things from people's trash......and then second question, when was the first ordinance put in place to cite these people....?
edit: just to let everyone know, just a bit out of it this mornings, as I had a severe migraine last night and had to stay home today.
