My wife is being induced at 4:00a.m. tomorrow I will be a daddy!
I used a Michrometer to make sure the holes were perfet. it took a lot of time, but is very important that they are perfect. (for balance)
I used a punch to ensure the hole started in the EXACT right spot.
I used a drill press with a tiny bit to get a pilot hole.
then moved to a larger bit to drill the rest.
then an even larger bit to taper the holes.
then a camera to take pictures.
The crank pulley was sent with my dad to get machined. (cutting off the front half of the pulley).

Spin it and see if it stops in the same place.
Mark it with a pencil or chalk.
If it stops in the same place you need to balance it with a with a hole file.
you will be surprised how easily it is to make the weight off.
