ok...well, heres what ive narrowed down for my wheels! they arent the crazy expensive wheels i originally was going for..... i found some nice clean wheels, w/ a staggered setup that i want

front 17x7 40 offset 1.75" lip (unfortunatly, its 1" narrower than my current wheels)

rear 17x9 35 offset 3" lip

one big downer is they dont make them in chrome, so i need advice on whether to get the gold ones or the gun metal ones (believe it or not, gold wheels actually look damn good on orange cars!) (gives it a kinda drift car feel)..... they are only $550 shipped to my door, so if i end up not liking them, they will go on my other rx7, and ill start over

so what do you all think?

I'm sorry, but the car with gun metal makes it look like a car.

The Gold matches and really compliments the paint. Makes people notice the whole car.

How much do they weigh?

Oh, I noticed that the front wheels only have a 1.75" lip.

Is that ok?

Actually Kieth is over the hill. He's all washed up.

That's why he's selling his 8.

He's part of the old fart club now.

That's why he's looking at buying a Buick!

i agree, which is what makes my descision so hard... i love both colors! just cant decide which one i like more!

everyone has gunmetal wheels...and its the "wheel of choice" for many orange cars, so gold is definently a turn in the other direction (which is my style) ... blah! what a pain

as for the lip size, yes i wanted a small lip in the front, and a wider lip in the rear.... gives the car a more "widebody" feel to it... not sure on the weight yet, but thats not an issue w/ me....

true... here's another take on it after looking at the photos some more. the gold rims are shinier and tend to make the wheels stand out more, whereas the gun metal rims complement the overall look of the car without throwing things out of balance.

so, i think what it boils down to is- do u want people to (a) notice the rims more or (b) notice the car more? if the answer is (a) then go with the gold. if the answer is (b) then gun metal it is...

Vipers, I would definitely go with the gold. It just "pops" out and compliments the whole paint scheme of your car much better.

P.S. I normally despise gold rims but it looks sweet on your car.

nah.... i figure w/ 400-450hp, buying top of the line tires would be a waste, since they are just gonna get burned up anyways! especially the first few sets of tires, since im gonna be having some fun w/ my new motor........ but i havnt set my mind on a size or brand yet.... i was thing about 225/40zr18's front, and 265/35zr18's rear (if i can fit 285's, ill go that route)... brand, ill probubly go w/ toyo, or kumho.....

i probubly should have waited on the wheels, since i still need to buy all the engine stuff still, but i kinda wanted EVERYTHING ready on the car when i fire her up.... wheels, brakes, suspension, engine, cage, etc...... as long as she is ready to go by sevenstock9 (engine broken in) ill be happy
