dude...guys....so i got pulled over by a cop....for my MAZDASPEED EXHAUST...um...the heck?! he kept explaining that nonstock exhausts are illegal! didn't give me a ticket....and i kind of feel like he just made a mistake for pulling me over that's why he wants to make some **** up...so what is it!? is it street legal!?

 

dont worry, i got pulled over for my hks single, got a ticket to go the ref, passed and got a certificate so i can slap it in his face next time,

exhausts are legal as long as they are under 95db,

edit: midpipes are NOT legal, ur not supposed to touch the cat in anyway

27151. (a) No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor
vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted
by the motor of the vehicle so that the vehicle is not in compliance
with the provisions of Section 27150 or exceeds the noise limits
established for the type of vehicle in Article 2.5 (commencing with
Section 27200). No person shall operate a motor vehicle with an
exhaust system so modified.
(b) For the purposes of exhaust systems installed on motor
vehicles with a manufacturer's gross vehicle weight rating of less
than 6,000 pounds, other than motorcycles, a sound level of 95 dbA or
less, when tested in accordance with Society of Automotive Engineers
Standard J1169 May 1998, complies with this section. Motor vehicle
exhaust systems or parts thereof include, but are not limited to,
nonoriginal exhaust equipment.

 

That pretty much states it Raymond. Just don't argue with the cop and keep agreeing even though you know you're right. There's a lot of rookies out there and they don't know anything. Coming from a guy who's been pulled over 20 times the past two years and only 4 tickets(stupid things like no plate), just get the certification that it's legally sound and call it a day.

Hey, does anyone know anyone or anything about Diamond Wireless (verizon) in the Santa Anita Mall? They are ******* ripping me off and I want to know what I can do about it or who to talk to in their management.

I bought a new Droid from them, it's defective, and now (two weeks later) they won't take it back as a return without a hefty restocking fee which is not stated on their contract with me.

I figured someone here might know something about these crooks. Help a brother out

sorry to hear about your droid issues dustin... i never bought anything from that shop, so i dunno... im' actually surprised, cuz i heard the droid is a nice phone. u can always file a complaint on the www.bbb.org website. hope u get it resolved.

 

Oh yea, thanks for reminding me about BBB. I am going to complain to the Arcadia chamber of commerce and any other outlet that I can. I finally got the droid returned to Diamond, but in Northridge. I went back to a real verizon store and got it again. The new one has been running good so far. If you get one, check the date on the side of the box, it should be at least a November date. Mine is 11/7/2009. My first one was 10/something...
