yeah but it came out late and then nothing changed. But that's okay, my wife told to use the money I was going to use to put down on the MS6, to finish my 20B project on the 8 . Just waiting on my tax return to see what else I can get.

Here's an interesting tidbit on this subject...when looking at Mitsubishi. Their flagship EVO was not in jeopardy of sales drops with the release of the new Eclipse, because Mitsu was not going to release a turbo's version of the Eclipse. Bummer to Eclipse owners, but left the Evo at its stance in the company.

We are left out a little with the addition of the MS6, but I still feel good about my car.

Bad Mazda...

"Sporty-looking" or not, the MS6 still looks like a rice-O-rocket to me- ie a boxy, 4-door sedan disguised w/ a bunch of pieced-together add-ons, as opposed to a stylish, sleek, all-in-one sportscar, like the 8.

The only reason I can think of why Mazda would make a fugly 4 banger out-perform its flagship sports car (or should I say ex-flagship sportscar) is because some stupid corporate ding dongs expect to sell more 6's and don't give a rat's *** about totally undermining their 8 customer base... Unfawking believable bs, if u ask me...

I mean, if BMW released a special 330i edition that actually outperformed the M3, can u imagine the outcry from customers who shelled out big bucks for the M3?

Bad mazda. Bad, bad mazda...

Mazda

Detrich,

I'm not really sure they're competing for the same market share.

When I knew it was time to get a new car, I did look at the MS6 (only because I already drove a 626) but I ultimately decided I wanted a Sports Car, not a Sports Sedan!

The RX-8 will remain Mazda's flagship car regardless of sales figures. It is their rarest, most prestigious, and most loved car in their line up. C'mon, you think Japanese Executives are going to fly half way around the world to go to a 6Stock?! - Mazda 6 get together?! Some of the executives that were at SevenStock8, had NEVER been to MNAO but came to visit strictly for the RX-8 get together.

True, true... But, same-market or not I still think that the sportscar should always be better than the sports sedan. (That's why the M3 is always flagship of the 3 series, period.) Otherwise, it just doesn't make a whole lotta sense...

Hey I wanted to rub something in. Today I had to go to LAX so I desided to go the LONG WAY. So I got in the 101 and took the Las Virgenes Exit to go to PCH. I had the joy doing the Malibu cruise all by myself. The good part was that it was 10 am so it was empty, no bikes no other car clubs no cops

What does the 28th of January look like for you guys? It seems that Saturdays are better for most people.

X-PED!!!! yey, you're back. We were starting to think you'd switched over to the dark side and bought a WRX or something...

Alright, we've got two weeks to get schedules all lined up and make this another great cruise!

Whose coming?

P.S. Can't wait to see that video! Hope your internet gets fixed real soon

it was a fricken blast. I know I may be shot for this, but it was way better than any of the Malibu runs. Yah, it was that good. Man what a great day, even with the rain that made the second set of 6 runs prettty difficult, but interesting. I'm definatley interested in doing it again, and am considering getting a "points card" so I can go to different events like those in Sand Diego and San Fransisco.

awesome... do u have more picts? i went to mazda's zoom zoom out in pomona fairplex during the summer, and that was a blast too. i got there a bit late, so only got to do 3 auto-x runs w/ the 8 and 2 w/ the mx-5. the rx-8 line was actually the shortest line, so i kept going back. i think the instructors were like, "u... again?" hahahaha

anyhow. when it's not your tires, not your brakes, and not your car- i should say- it's easy to go nuts and really push it to the limits. i really loved the way the 8 handles on the auto-x, but i dunno if i'm gutsy enough to abuse my own car like that.

is it easy to change the tires on/ off for the event, and what else did u have to do to ur car in prep for it?
