I am upgradigng from a 1990 29" zenith console tv. Vast improvement no matter what make or model i got. Good luck with your search Honda.... I had a heck of a time deceiding what i wanted, almost got a 50" LG for the price and size but i liked the pioneer plus features better.

I have a 60 inch Panasonic LCD projection set. Paid way too much for it, but love having HD football games 60 inches wide. One thing though, the larger you go, the worse regular tv broadcasts look.
On another side note, I love the "bong" sound the older tv sets make. The old computer monitor did the same thing. "bong".
On another side note...I downloaded the file last night. I saw last night, but really, I started the download at like 10:30 and just went to bed. Woke up this morning excited to start my day with a kick a## xped video....no luck....it says I need a different "codec" on my windows media player. Damn it.
Detrich, didn't you have the same problem, what did you do to fix it?

well I was looking at the Plasmas also and I was set on a Panasonic until someone pointed out the distortion on them which was very clear. Then I stated thinking about the screen getting burn when my son watch cartoons all day during the week. I know what LG you are talking about and man I loved it too. It's till burning in the back of my head. The issue I got right now is that my TV sits about 16-18 ft from the couch. But I don't want something to big because I move around alot (like every 3 years) and every living room is not the same. In this living room a 60" is perfect.

i downloaded the file to my G5, but it wouldn't play in QT or WMP. so, i copied the file to my PC, and it opened right up. the only 3rd-party codec i have loaded on the PC is divx, which u can download from www.divex.com i believe. so, try updating WMP first to the latest version, then install the divx codec, and see if it works after that.

This is a bummer, since she is at school tonight, so I won't get to see the video till Wednesday or Thursday...uggghh.

Odd that you don't have the proper codec. Maybe you can get it from doing a Windows update?
I downloaded the video and was able to view it using the Nero 7 software that Xrider got for me. I've never used their stuff to view videos before but it seemed to work fairly well. You need any burning software?
I'm trying to download it here @ the office to see if my WMP can handle it...

yah, the bigger the screen and the higher quality the tv, the crappier ordinary tv programs look- namely because the resolution on newer tv's are SO good that they completely display just how crappy the source analog signal is of normal broadcasts.
my own experience is that, generally-speaking, only HD channels and DVD's look insanely great on the new flat tv's- be it plasma, LCD, DLP, or LCD projection. everything else looks actually a lot worse than regular flat screen CRT- only because CRT tv's are so much more forgiving when the input signal is not the very best.
also, generally-speaking, the bigger the screen the further u have to sit from it to get good viewing. read the tv's manual to see if your living room meets the requirements.

WOW> i got up to level 25 in Warcraft III, before i stopped playing. (ORCS baby! hehehehe) and, i decided not to get WOW when it came out. too afraid of getting sucked into that vortex and wasting too much time... LOL. Hey, i need to put some miles on the 8 instead, right?
TV> to replace my old 27" CRT, a few months ago i picked up a new 42" Sony WEGA LCD-Projection for $1,700 out-the-door (including free delivery) from Sears. (my living room is too small for anything bigger.) and, i've been really happy with it- very good bang for the buck. as mentioned, DVD's, HD channels, and PS2 look insanely great on it! but, watching Bernie Mac (one of my favorite shows) on UPN looks like crap! can't have everything i guess.

ok, checked my wmp and it doesn't need any updates (it is running version 10). I went to the divex web site that is listed above and it took me to some diving site. Any other suggestions?
here, download and install this:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...Codec_Pack.htm
It basically will install every codec known to man on your computer so you'll never have to worry about that problem again
