I will be fooling around in the garage on Saturday from 10am until 1pm so if you want to stop by and drop off parts or tools go ahead and do so. I have a bunch of stuff at Mikes house I need to get ahold of also.

I'm hoping my 8 shows up this weekend also but.............?

Anthony, I have the tools but not the time.....Not a big job but it is time consuming. Can take a while if you have to bleed them but as long as the hoses are OK and you are not leaking or fighting burned break fluid you should not have to.

:13?!?!?

Um yeah... I'd say she is under performing quite a bit. Plan on them telling you need to replace your coils, plugs and wires. If you have them do the job, it will be like $1200. Do it yourself, like $300 max.

Hopefully your cat is still good, warranty for that is only up to 80K.

Best of luck!

my car is starting to run a tad bit rough also. still has power but the idle is not as smooth. maf and air filter are clean. has brand new coils, wires, and spark plugs also. the plugs i pulled before seafoaming were not that bad either.

but its still idling a bit rough. the rough idle has only started about a month ago. so i replaced the motor mounts, seafoamed, and replace all ign components. ive got 57k miles.

looks like i should try compression testing next.

phil can i come use ur compression tester sometime? my warranty runs out 7/24/12.

If you have a bad cat, it can mess up your new coils. You cat is covered until 80K but I would pull it off to check it and make sure it isn't toast. It could certainly be an engine gone bad so the compression check would be smart. Phil's garage is open this Sat if I recall correctly. I'll be dropping off tools but can help with the compression check if you like.

Heading to Wide Wheel Wednesday, anyone else going?

Yes, you are welcome to use my compression tester any time. Weekends are best.

so today i installed my mazport ignition on den's car, tomorrow will be installing stock ignition, intake and mid pipe on mine
than will be missing just the radiator

Phil would you think that there is a chance of the water pump is gone as I ran out of water and then overheated, is there anyway that i can test it or anyway to know just by looking at it?

Well usually when the water pump goes out you get a lot of weeping from the little vent hole on the water pump or the pump will freeze. What I have been seeing lately is the vanes that move the water rot off the water pump so while it does not move water, it will not show a leak. Never hurts to check it out. As I remember it the water pump is not to expensive an item. If you don't have the weeping from the water pump and you still run out of water, look for another leak in the cooling system.

I never seem to get up the the Mazda dealer but I purchased a "relay" from them and it is in and paid for but still setting there. If any of you are going there maybe I could get you to pick it up for me. I should, I hope, be getting my 8 back midweek next week and could use it. It's supposed to be under my name or maybe even Erick as he ordered it for me.

Help us with WHiV5

Get 50 12"x12" cotton rags for $10 (50% of the proceeds go towards WHIV5)

If anyone needs these for their garage (or elsewhere) let us know.

Let me know if your interested, how many bundles you would like and I will make the contacts and get some to you...... WHiV5 needs some influx of $ to keep it healthy!

I had a leak in the radiator that's why i ran out of water, i want know if that could affect the water pump, because if the water pump is gone they could blame it and not give me a new engine

Just fix the leak and you should be just fine. Anyway, is your engine weakening or losing power?

Hi all you local peeps.....I'll be foolin around in my garage from 10am until 1pm this weekend and will have several of those shop rag bundles with me. Support WHiV5 by buying a bundle or two. Each of the bundles costs $10.00 and $5 of that goes to WHiV5. These are really great shop towles not the junk rags that are normally available but really good quality. I purchased 4 bundles for my garage.
