All are welcome to come by......The compression tester is ready. Little Phil borrowed my large floor jack so we would have to use one of the small floor jacks to work on the car. Maybe he will be by and return the big one Saturday. I will have some of the shop rags in the garage.

 

well i finally signed up here on the 8 club but i won't be advertising for now until more of a switch to the 8's comes up(paying for advertising on 2 sites is a stretch). in the meantime i'll just be trying to help people out with questions about 8's as i do on the 7 club.

Ben let me know if you ever get RX8 tuning dialed in with an Access Port. My girl needs it badly. Now that it is finally cooler out I have taken the AP off cuz I don't need to fans to turn on quite so early. But I am not taking advantage of my intake, mid-pipe and exhaust at all. Plus I want to turn off the CEL I get from the mid-pipe.

 

Hay, felipemm, I may need my jack. My 8 is coming back and there are a few things that need doing.

 

yeah i know, figure it's about time to start turboing some 8's since alot of the cars are out of warranty now.

what's going on with it?

i have been looking into the accessport but i need to get a hold of a copy of the race tune software and stock maps to get a feeling for how it all is setup for the rotary engines. Cobb only sends out the software if you have the serial # of a sold unit and i haven't bought one yet as i don't personally have an 8, at least not yet.

should be a bit easier for the naturally aspirated 8's since your setups are very close to one another versus the turbo 7's which all have to be tuned induvidually.

I have an access port plus the software. If you want to poke around the maps to get familiar I am cool with that. Would just want to be sure you have a solid foundation with everything before you make any adjustments. Not doubting your ability, just looking to be safest with the new engine.

 

chun: just drive out for my annual dyno tuning meet and you'll be all set.

 

It's a little early to tell with the Vegas peeps......It looks like three more are joining the caravan but that could change. Your two Vegas diehards will be there.

When are you haveing it this year? With ss14 being so late your going to have to hurry and pick a date and place to do it.

Got a few indoor spots still available and figured I'd extend the offer.


as for the dyno day; as soon as SS is done with, we'll kick that planning into High Gear.
expect a thread on it in a few weeks; the dyno event will be Feb or March.

 

We are looking at 6 to 10 non 8's heading that way and a few non commits at this point

I beleive one of our guys is lines up for an inside spot with a 79 Rx7 no not mine lol

 

Yup, 13X is keeping track of the peeps going to SS14......we have a caravan coming in........I was just reading the posts in the SinCity caravan thread.

I would have thought that at least two or three would be looking at inside spots. There are some nice Rotary vehicles in vegas

 

Sadly there have been a couple of issues arise but we are scrambling like the guys putting a dash in my car that I have not touched since last Thursday and swapping a clutch in another while massaging the hell out of a blemish on another ... and the clock is ticking faster

 

where the meetings at for the people here in vegas?

Is anyone else going to SS14? I will be there but not on the caravan as I need to go early to see my daddy.

 

If you can't connect with Chun and all you need is the software, mine is available. I'm off on the weekends and home every evening by 4pm but in bed by 8pm.

 

I would have gone, but i took the whole next week off for SEMA.
