I am moving to san mateo next week but leaving my car behind in Michigan. Are there any recommendations you all can give me in terms of car repair out there? I hope to have it shipped out soon but I think it needs a bit of work.

 

Hey there. You got two options over here, Rotorsport in Santa Clara and Rick's Performance, formally Rick's Rotary in Pleasenton. You also got a whole bunch of dealerships as well Also, you got us!

 

Havn't see anyone post here but Sevenstock was awesome even if I got screwed in the raffle :P.

Welcome back to NorCal, HWK11. There's an Initial D meet next week and a bunch of rotorheads are caravaning to it. Hope you could make it out.

 

Just moved here a few months back & so far haven't had especially good experiences @ Towne or Putnam Would really like to avoid dealing with dealerships if possible...

I live in SM as well & work in Menlo Park, is Rotorsport my best option or is there someone further up north I could go to?

^^^ Dealerships - I had great service from Capitol Mazda in south San Jose (when I owned my 8 - purchased it there - now sold, sadly). Also, there is an independent garage called Mr. Mazda in Campbell, CA where I had my 3 Ford Probe GTs (Mazda MX-6 twins mechanically - when I had them) serviced. Mr. Mazda has a mid 90s RX-7 that I always lusted after, but he wasn't giving it up.

In other news to NorCal folks... this is now my home subforum. Regularly between Fort Bragg and the Bay area for at least the winter.

Good afternoon all, my name is Kevin and I JUST moved to the Bay Area.
I've got an 04 RX-8 which I will include pictures of below.
The car is not here yet, it will arrive end of February/early March.

I'm looking to see what the deal is with meets and/or GTG's in the area.
Anything that happens on a regular basis?

I love rotaries, all shapes and sizes, and can't wait to meet some of you guys in the bay area.
I've seen a few 8's rolling around out here, but no 7's yet.
If you spot me, feel free to flag me down. If I'm not heading to work I'll most likely stop, unless you shady looking.

Anyway, as promised, pics below for reference, it'll be easy to spot, it's the bright red 8 with WI plates on it. (Wheel centers are gold now)

I won't know exact location until mid to late February when the wife moves out, however for now we are looking in the san Jose area as I'm working in Haywood.

If you are working in Hayward, you might be better off as far as monthly rents go, to look in the Hayward/Union City/Fremont area. San Jose along with most of the south bay has gotten much more expensive (I was fortunate a couple of years ago to find a cottage for $2K/mo and the average rents down here are much closer to $3K). Try posting on the CL wanted to rent section - I did that, and it worked well. :D

We've got about a month to nail things down so we'll see how it goes.

I can't WAIT to be able to drive the car year round!!!
