^ I go to the carwash. There is an Arizona Auto Wash on Warner, just East of Alma School. They don't have the mechanical car beater brushes. They have people in the tunnel hand washing your car. And when all is said and done it looks great. I should say after I have them get all the spots they missed.
Hopefully after SSX there will be another run to tortilla flats or some place fun i can get in on.

Eric, this a closer place that just opened up. It is called Classic Car Spa and is at the NE corner of Val Vista and Williams Field Rd. They are the only place I take my 8 to. They do a great job and only hand wash the cars as well.

As far as Tortilla Flats there might be an impromptu drive some time this weekend. I'll PM you if it happens. More than likely will be Saturday. Don't know for sure. Would be glad to have you along if we go.

I just wish to thank the Arizona contingent at SSX for letting an outsider in so smoothly with special thanks to MazdaManiac, ChickenWafer and Easy_1. I met so many of you and all were the most friendly group anyone could ask for. Hoping to see you all again.

^^ Second that! It was a pleasure meeting you and having you join us at our banquet table. We had the distinct pleasure of being at the same table as MM, Ray, Easy E1 and Phil.

How receptive would the state constabulary of Arizona be to a closed course run down one of your twisty mountain roads? I vaguely remember coming down off a mountain from a Apache Reservation to the low lands on a very fun road. Of course this was many years ago but I still think about that road and wishful thinking makes me wonder. I know that the Nevada HP will do it for a licensed club if road liability insurance is posted and you set a few rules but I do not know the mind set of the AZ troopers. I know you have the AZ Mazda Club as a reconized car club and it just got me thinking.......Me thinking is a dangerous thing. I know some will scoff at the idea and others will say "no way will they let us" but it could be fun.

There was talk that State Police were wanting to take over highway patrolling from the reservation police. I don't know if that happened in AZ. (I think the road I'm thinking of was part of the reservation) If it did then hit up the politicians first as they will sway with the wind and have influence with the state troopers. You need to approach them like a multi member club for obvious reasons. Many years ago it worked in Cali. If the Indians still control the highway then it takes a little different approach but doable. Use all the arguments including the tourist thing
