Jerome is a kick azz little town! Nice pics; there are lots more photo opps out there; kinda hard to do them yourself while driving though 'eh?

You'll enjoy our drives to Wickenburg then; we go the back twisty way to Jerome

Questions for AZ residents, and sorry for my ignorance.
I know most of you are in the Phoenix area. I'm going to Phoenix on Feb 8th, and then driving to Flagstaff the next day.
I noticed it's pretty cold in Flagstaff, and sometimes it's snowing.
Do I need chains to drive in Flagstaff?
I will be driving a rental car, and driving to Flagstaff around 3pm and returning to Phoenix around midnight.

Thanks.

Cesar,

This time of year I would prepare for the worst. The Highway Patrol will turn you back if the weather turns and you do not have chains.

Feb 8 is still too far away to predict the weather.

Three weeks and counting!

Talked to dealer. Replacement engine was bad so they have ordered another reman engine. Also, the catalytic converter went bad. At least I have to give the dealer (Earnhardt) credit for not just giving me a bad reman back.

Q - Do they replace the oil pan when they do the engine? I am worried that there could be metal filled oil going through the new engine. Probably a silly question if you are a motorhead but I am not so I have to ask

It does not come with an oil pan. They will use yours and I hope they will clean it and the oil pick-up tube/screen.
Good luck on the next reman.

Holy moly you're kidding me; the replacment engine was BAD? I did have my cat replaced a couple of years back (no engine, just the cat).

Dang you've got to be missin' your car.

Since we were in the 70's here in the Valley this weekend, I take it your travels to Flag were uneventful? I do hope you take the opportunity to snap off some pics and post them here. And please, tell me you DID stop off in Sedona for some sight seeing??

Thanks guys (EZ & Jeffe). I feel like such an *** saying this, but the truth is in the verrrrrrrry back of my mind she's "used goods" to me at this point, mentally. I really don't know what to do now. She still looks okay but there's just the knowledge, ya know?? I looked at *many* other options while she was in the shop. I almost feel trapped because no other single car offers what the "total package RX8" offers. DAMMIT!

EZ - you're missing 30hp? So am I LMAO! No wait, you mean 30hp less than what we started with?

Ahhhh hell just get a new (3rd) RX8 and start over! Get the stormy mica will ya? Then I can live vicariously through you!

Well it's Friday. Another week down the drain.
Looks like some of the AZMC folks are going to the Pav's tomorrow night. Last time we had about 12 cars.

Absolutly! I plan on being there if I can get back to that side of town. I'm meeting a buddy on Saturday after the AZMC meeting to get my new Hawk HPS pads put on. I'm really excited to have a little better stopping power. I'm having the rotors turned as well.

The pavilions should be a good time. As easy said we had a nice turnout before and the weather was good. Uncle Sams kicked as as always. I know the food might not be that great but the company is always first rate!

Pool I've heard you've been looking around. I know what you mean about the "total package" deal. I've had the opportunity to test drive several other vehicles like the Speed 6, the 350z and the Evo just to name a few. The extra power is really nice but the RX8 fits you like a glove and provides a little bit of everything. Plus you just can't beat the smoothness of the rotary.

I honestly, if I was to switch, would probably go for a 2003 or earlier Honda 2000 only cause of the small, high rev'ing motor. I just can't see going to a high displacement motor. I'm hoping that by the time I drive my RX8 into the ground Mazda will have another rotary car I can buy.

I heard you were looking at the saturn sky. I've not had the chance to drive one but they are great looking cars and seem to have a nice power plant and are not very common.

Todd, I have a set of stock rotors with about 25000 miles on them if you interested or need some. I won't charge much

I sware that there is some sort of sign that invites the stupid drivers from every other state to live here...

Hang up and drive people... I'm sure I'm not the only one that feels this way.

No your wrong, the sign is for coming to Vegas. Some of the stupid drivers may get lost and stop in Phoenix.
