Spring cleaning-delete useless threads and or merge

Like the title says it would be great if all the mods could do a deep spring clean up.
I use google to search the forums its the most effective IMHO

example Cold air intake site:rx8club.com

as time moves on I find more and more useless threads and posts and think "why aren't these just closed and deleted after a week." are some of them funny yes, change the title and move them to a "crazy funny newb posts" section that is read only.

a search done like this will yield many results, most of them are the most recent so the first five hits are post that are instructing the OP to search.

the fault is in ignorant, lazy OP's I understand, just thought a spring cleanup would greatly improve the site.

I just keep seeing post after post very similar to this, older forum members complaining about newer forum members.
Stuff like "they don't do it right", "not in the right subforum", "tell us more about your car and maintenance".

Is it sooo much to ask that we have a noob forum that we can post anything we want?

I would like to show pictures of my tractor and prize sow

I'm also trying to put a snowplow blade on the front of my rx8, to do the driveway in winter.

There is something like a "Stupid Question" thread
I don't know about your tractor, but there is a girlfriends and wife's section.
Be careful not to restrict the airflow to your cooling system with the snowplow blade.

I'm glad someone got there before I had to do so!

Maybe a sticky with the answer to a bunch of common questions could be useful and faster to implement.

Just say why a car generally doesn't start. Pulleys don't work, Just 2 intakes really work and yadda yadda...
Then ban the users that post such questions, showing that they didn't search!

LOL ok ... I think you know I was joking, but it is a small blade i have ... I could for jokes put it on

Will try for pics of tractor and 8 tomorrow is weather is cooperative.

Back on topic,
Is there a way to do a google search by post count or age of posts.

If you use the site:rx8club.com search it returns the most recent and typically crappy newb (me) threads.

There must be a way to add a criteria in the search to try and mitigate the newest posts

There is and it's stickied. It's called the new owners thread. The noobs don't want to research first. They just sign up and immediately post their problems.

After awhile of doing the right thing, to eliminate such nonsense, you get burned out. It just keeps coming.
The Mods and Admins are volunteers. We don't get paid to do this. We have to find and take time to do this job. Finding the people, that we are sure of, with the proper attitude to do the job keeps us from expanding the staff.

Can't you make the newbs like myself only post in one forum, until X number of posts.

Don't think this would help the google search but it might mitigate some of the pollution.

I think the RX7club does something like this and the ViperClub of America is another good example.

I don't know. The site functions are the responsibility of the Admins and I.B. The Mods don't have access to those functions and are not apart of that decision making process.
