I'm a member of the motorcycle I own forum (Suzuki SV650S) and they have an SV of the Month section, where at the beginning of each month the moderator of that sub-section post a "nomination" thread where people nominate other people's bikes (or in this case, RX-8's) by posting pictures of them, and you can not nom yourself. Then, after a few days of nominations, a new thread is started with a poll option that displays all the top nominees bikes (again, this would be RX-8's) and people vote on their fav. At the end of the month, voting closes and the person with the most votes win.
Some other rules:
-you can only win RX-8 of the month once per year
-You can not nominate yourself
-The winner should get their picture displayed somewhere for everyone to see, I just don't know where on this forum without making another thread
-BUT, another thread will be created (again by the moderator, only the mod of the RX-8 Of the month section can create new threads) will make one telling everyone who the winner is and then the winner cna gloat by taking in the accolades and listing the modifications they've done and how much blood, sweat, and tears they have shed in the process.
a few more rules will be created if it gets going.
Do people here think that's a good idea??

Get it done wafer...would be interested to see the nominees. I'm sure the nominees would be pretty much the same every month...but it would be interesting to see who took the very first month.

I don't understand, it isn't hard. Everyone can nom someone other themselves, the top noms are placed in the RX8 of the month voting thread with pics of their ride, then everyone can vote on their favorite. There are LOTS of nice 8's here, I'm sure we would have a different winner every month. I just need to get a section created by a modd called the "RX-8 of the Month" so we can keep it less cluttered in other sections.

I love the idea but I think the issue we had last time this was proposed was figuring out a criteria.

should keep criteria for the cars out...just accept nominations and let the voting speak for itself.

There should be criteria on how a nomination is made, not having the same winner over the course of the year, ect.

This idea has flown a couple times, but never taken off....just get it started and work the kinks out as you go....otherwise, you'll never get passed the stage that most have been stuck at.

Grading is on the most appealing car. Vote on whatever car you like the most, for whatever reasons you want. Vote on the turbo 8 with no visual mods because of it's performance, or vote on the car with the custom paint and body kit, whatever you want. Its just a popular vote- the most "appealing" wins.
I really think this would be fun. It is on the other forum I participate in, and there aren't any problems with finding a winner.

I agree. I've sent a PM to a few admins but no one is responding to me :/ Maybe the people in power don't want to see this. I dunno
I would handle all the moderation of the forum and make sure everyone knows the rules. I think this would be a great addition to the RX8Club family.
