+1 so i can quit going here http://www.autopia.org/forum/guide-detailing/ to look up all my cleaning/maintenance stuff.....
yeah for repeated threads on multiple forums!
i wonder if that would make them reposts technically?

It's worked pretty well on other car forums. Only problem I could think of is sellers posting reviews or fanboys posting crazy things.
Other than that its a great idea.

It shouldn't be a normal forum - it should be a wiki post forum. But they definitely need something. Many of the sticky threads are from 2003/2004 and provide little or no value. Links are out of date, prices are out of date, and specs are unproven.
They put up a product forum with a wiki post for each product and allow users to edit the wiki. The more a product is owned the more accurate and detailed the wiki gets.
The only downside I can see is that people won't be able to tell new members to search as often as they do now.

Guys, "petitions" aren't really the way to get our attention- if we haven't posted, it's not because we're ignoring you or the idea, we may just be thinking about the thread for a bit, or discussing it elsewhere. Right now, we're working on a few other things for the forum, but this is definitely an interesting idea.
Until then, just search for whatever product you're considering, and usually something will come up that can help you in your decision.
