Noob
ok... since people are buying rx8's and there are always going to be new members... i was thinking of a Noob section....
it would go somewhat like this
Noobs
-Introductions (where new users can introduce them selves... like post pics of there cars and tell a little about them selves....)
-Buyers guide or Noob guide (this is where the noob question threads would go and the differences in years and some of the more economical stuff like MPG's, HP, and some other goodies)
Then maby some other things as time goes by or more members come up with some ideas.
I really like the intro thing... because when you read peoples posts you don't just have a name and know what they drive... you kinda get an idea of what kinda person they are to... and it also keeps the forum a little more familiar with each other.

IMO a noob section would create some "newbie" versus "experience" division, which was recently up for discussion, and the general consensus was that division was bad.
As far as the noob questions "MPG's, HP, and some other goodies":
#1, there are existing threads going back to 2003 dealing with these issues, which are good reads, informative. Especially readable is one asking "are these cars really 250 HP?!?"
#2, If "noobs" are asking all these questions in their own section..............who answers their questions? I dunno if experienced 8 owners will be hanging out in the special "noob" forums, waiting to answer questions that have already been covered in older threads.
I dunno.
I say noobs just need to jump in the big pool.

I just see it creating an "us" versus "them" sort of division, two sort of camps, when we should be mingling.
Maybe I am just reading too much into it.

should not be us vs them.
but the lounge is there. or with photos the mutimedaia section..
as to the tech ?s. if you just read the faq section, it covers most.. after that the stickys cover 98 % of the rest.
yes it takes a bit of time to read the stuff.. but it is there..
also as i have mentioned before. if you use the advanced search, and change the time searched to any time..
