for a 2005, a few months back, maybe. I doubt you'll get that on a 2006.

Best I've gotten from a dealer on an 06 so far is $200 below invoice once they factor in assessment fees and such. You can subtract $1,500 from that for Mazdas cash incentive and another 500 if you want MAC financing.

There are also a ton of dealers around the MD/DC/VA area too so it's not like I'm in the boonies. Most want invoice or more plus dealer/assessment fees.

I got a bit below invoice, $1500 and an addition $500 corporate ptn. rebate. Out the door will be just about $28K for an '06 GT 6 spd manual (no wing, appearance package, etc)

Most of them are right. If you can find an 05, you'll still be able to muscle down $7-9K, but getting $1K below invoice on an 06 right now would be a feat. Don't hold your breath for too long. I'd ask $28,5 then walk if you can hold yur horses for awhile. If it sits, they'll consider. It's far from a sure-thing though.

If you can wait, I would. Those Mazda dealers are swimming in unsold RX-8 inventory.

There is a dealer in the SF Bay area that is offering $300 under invoice right off the bat.
