First Zaino application on my 8!
First Zaino application on my 8!
Well, I finally broke down and bought the show car kit. I've always used Mother's California Gold wax on my cars, but the Zaino definitely eclipsed it. I spent a gorgeous Spring day going through the whole process -- clay bar, Dawn wash, 1 coat of Z5 and 2 coats of Z2, with Z6 in between each. It took most of the day, but the results were amazing! The first thing my girlfriend said when she saw it last night is that the paint looked like a sheet of glass. I have to agree.
I took some pics, but I have to say that it's really difficult to bring out the depth and shine on the Titanium Gray paint in photos. The pics I've seen here of TG's with Zaino look good, it's just really hard to show how great the Zaino finish is on this color, unless you're seeing it in person. You've all seen these kinds of pics before, so I just have a close-up of the hood that I think really shows the gloss and the metallic sparkle of the Titanium paint. The whole car looks like this, and the paint just feels so smooth. I also included another shot of the side that I thought came out pretty well.
Enjoy!

Looks good man! I once put 7 coats of combined Z2 and Z5 on my car with the Z6 in between. Damn did it look good! I need to get a fresh supply of Zaino. I will prolly be doing a full Zaino over Easter.

And there actually might have been too much sun when I took the pics. It was directly over head and causing a bit of a glare on the surface. And no clouds to reflect on the hood that day.

Thanks to the rest of you for the compliments.

To you guys on the west coast: sorry about the bad weather! Not sure where in Cali you are, but I'd bet you get better weather on average than we get here in B-more. We just got lucky this weekend and the temps were above normal. If it's any consolation, it's raining today all over my newly-polished car.

And thanks Hightshoe for the props!
