Like? Dislike?

A buddy of mine whipped this up in photoshop. I've been thinking of getting black rims and painting my calipers black as well.

Gunmetal would be a nice option too.

 

There are two rx-8 with Black OEM rims in https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-exterior-appearance-body-kits-27/colour-centre-caps-85218/ no need to Photoshop. Searching the wheels area for " black" will return more threads on the subject.

 

its been done many times over and yes it will look pretty clean..

 

actually it looks pretty dirty. all black rims look like they're filthy.

I do like black wheels - I painted mine but left the lip the stock silver color. I think it looks pretty good (see attached).

As for the single door conversion - That would be one long door! I had a camaro with the long door like that - very hard to open them (to get in and out) in a tightly spaced parking lot. Now, if they flipped forward (lambo doors) that would work pretty good.

Thanks, glad you like. I have gotten quite few positive comments including the "thumbs up" from my local Mazda dealer service department. They said it accentuated the overall look. I've included a few more picts for the interested.

 

How about painting your front rotary accent black?

 

You mean the front Mazda logo? That's a great idea. Now I just need to figure out how to get it off and back on again without damaging anything.

Thats actually a good idea too, but I meant the V in the front below the grill. It looks like yours is body colored now. To continue with your current theme, you should paint that black too. But yeah, paint the front and rear logos.

 

i actually did that a few weeks ago... paint the rotary accents black. Sanded them down, primed, 5 coats of gloss black, came out perfect!
