NZ 2012 RX8 Mystery Tour

Well its time to get started.
At this stage its going to be on Saturday February 18th starting at 10.00am at the Mercer Mobil Petrol station car park on State highway one south of the Bombay hills.
I've had a talk with Brettus about the event and I think we should have something that will be fun and challenging at the same time. This event will be a bit different from the last one and possible a little more difficult, but I'm sure you will have a great day out.
So start telling your friends, a car full of people will probably be helpful, a map of the Waikato will be useful or google on your phone, you will also need a camera of some sort, either a phone camera or normal digital one.
We will be stopping somewhere nice for lunch, not expensive though.
Hopefully you will see some of the country side you might not of seen before and meet some new people at the same time.
Also I have been talking with a magazine that might be interested in doing an article on the event.
The more people/cars we can get to the event, the more likely the magazine would look at doing an article.
So please go and tell as many people as you can and show some commitment by posting back here that you will be coming.
Look forward to seeing you all again and meeting some new people.
Thanks

Rotaman

If you are over here on that date, then you would be most welcome to come along.
Please let us know if you are going to be here, we could arrange to pick you up.
The more the merrier.

I can provide you with accommodation and can pick you up and drop you back to the Airport.
Maybe you could talk with your boss and see if they will look at it as a good promotional trip. Suggest you might be able to find some customers for the new Spirit R. Put it this way, Where there is a will, there is a way.

Scott - maybe you could post up some of your photos from the last event as a reminder of how well the last event went, especially the ring of cars out at Hampton Downs.

Here's a thought I've been contemplating - should we let any Rotary powered vehicle come and join our event?
Please let me know your thoughts on this, yes or no would be a good start.

Thanks

Rotaman

Thanks for those photos Scott, and bring your brother along, he will enjoy the road trip.
Lets see if we can get at least the same or more cars there this time.
Everybody needs to bring at least one other person with them to help out with the glues!!!

Yes, don't want any of you guys getting lost now.
Have a great Christmas don't eat too much, otherwise your car will be too slow with carrying all that extra weight.
Look out for any RX8's on the road and give them a wave. If you see anyone stopped in an RX8 then tell them about the 2012 Mystery tour.
Have fun

Roger has indicated that he might not be able to be involved with this due to a timing issue . I think we could still do it if I had one other person to help with the organising. Any volunteers ?

I'm hoping to still be able to get to the event, but not certain yet.
If I can help out still I will. Let me know if you are still going to start the event from the same place as we initially thought of. As I will still try and get the magazine to come and do something on it.
Also might be worth looking at opening the event to anything Rotary powered.
Have a think about this, it will be a good way to increase numbers to the event.
Have fun

Yes -we will start the event as per the original plan outlined in the first post. Little bit different format to last time but similar sort of thing.
Aiming for similar mileage as last time so about 1 tank of gas and stopping for lunch at a cafe.

lets just get an idea of numbers :

1/Brettus - definite
2/Sweetfa- definite
3/xcon- definite
4/nzmkey- definite
5/Scottnz - possible
6/bluerx - possible
7/Rotaman -possible

Thanks for offer to help sweetfa - will take you up on that

Excellent, looks like it could be another good turnout.
I'll make up some more Mystery Tour stickers like last years one. Must admit, I still have mine on the car.
