Havent had time to visit him again family came from overseas and been looking after them, may go tomorrow if i find time.

As for radar detector i also have a valentine one and i think they about to release somthing cool with the new update . But the new bel sti magnum is worth checking out. Its brand new so not many reviews yet but if what bel says is right (i think they said 20-25% increase in performance) then it should bet the v1 hands down (aLso bel is undetectable to radar detector detectors( if nz outlaws them). In saying that i still cant live without arrows and bogey counter which have got me out of some hefty fines.

But I'm probably lucky I got it checked out before it left me on the side of the road with a fried engine.

Might not be able to afford the gas to come on saturday
That sucks, do you know what caused it?? Or was it just random.

Just random. I don't think the other problems were related to the warning light, that was just a sensor problem. I don't know if the leaking water pump and cracked radiator is what was causing the temperature fluctuations I saw, but I'm glad I got it checked out before anything worse happened. The mechanic said the coolant system was just showing its age, but the rest of the car is fine.

Hopefully I'll get the car back today, and be able to do some creative accounting so i can still come on Saturday.

Hi nocabiwik

If you can make it out to the Mystery tour this Saturday, we would be glad to meet you. I think you will have a fun day. Don't forget to bring someone along to help you with the day, as its a Mystery tour, and its a lot better with at least 2 people in your car.
We meet at Mercer at 10am, Saturday 18th, in the car park of the Mobil station.
See you all soon.

Rotaman

I know what you mean i fluked calling radar direct and they told me about the change to k band. And then the police tested the cameras intensively down our street with new vans and all. By the way some roads have point to point cameras which monitor average speed, i think desert road has it if i remember correctly (so be safe guys).

Valentine one released some pdf's and they might give us band segmentation which means less scanner doors (false alerts) and faster/longer detection on wanted alerts.

For people with smartphones (android/ios/blackberry/and nokia versions avaiable) with internet connection, i suggest getting trapster for this trip then we can warn each other of cops/cameras and other hazards. Also it is good to use as it monitors traffic of the major cities. Which is free and very detailed and accurate. (just remember to register so you can report traps before the trip)

Man, this has to be the crappiest summer weather ever!
The forecast for Saturday isn't looking to bad at the moment, but do we have a backup plan?

Is hitting a chicken a bad omen .....collected one last night on the way home. You would be amazed at the number of feathers I had to remove from the air filter/oil cooler/ engine bay - I was only going 70kmh and it dashed out from the bush and splat.

Which got me thinking......why don't we start a facebook group? Might make it easier to promote events like this in the future. Just a thought.

Good on ya Scott
Must admit to not having a facebook page, as I already waste too much time on the computer.
But I think its a good idea to have the NZ RX8 facebook page.

Sweetfa- if you need another chicken, I have a friendly one that would love a good home. Infact I usually have to pick it up and put it in its tree at night, as it can't quit jump high enough to put itself to bed. Its a nice little chicken. It probably likes RX8's as well.

Oh believe me Brettus - The smell of burnt feathers on the exhaust was not what I would call appealing - Rotaman I already have a chicken at home of which the wife would dearly love to leave as it loves her gardens
