Missing one leg from Regian to Manu Bay.

Let me know if you can think of a more inspiring music to use.

Here is the google map for the day:

Looks like my problem is a faulty thermostat. It is only partially opening.

Not too expensive to replace (phew!) so I should be back on the road tomorrow

Definitely will get them lined up, tho i think u will waste us on corners, but by next year we should have done a few extras to help us combat that

Also thank you roger, without you and brettus we would not be able to get our rx8's play dates with one another

Its good to hear that everyone seemed to have a good day overall.
Thank you to Brett for doing the hard yards and putting the event together.
Also glad to hear that Scott's little problem seems like its not going to be too serious.
It was interesting watching nzmkey's 10min video of the whole day. Surprising how fast the day goes past when you see it in less then 10mins.
Now the questions.
After you now had time to think about the event. Is there anything you would like to see done differently? or better? or any comment, good or bad, as feedback is the only way we can improve the events.
Don't be afraid to say something.
Also would you like to have another event this year? and how long do you want between events? try be realistic with this answer, as it does take a bit of time to organise an event.
If you have any ideas as to what you would like to do for another event, please let us know, as any ideas are good to start with.
Thanks to everyone that came along.

Every six months would be good, with perhaps an occasional sunday afternoon cruise thrown in.

Saturdays event was excellent. A real credit to the organisers!

May be good if the next day trip can be done with one tank and has longer stop to socialise/photos?

-like the dyno day - would like to find out how much power I still have with my stock 8
-like the training day/track day
-half day skid pad for a laugh
-six months will keep the group active and attract more members

thanks again for organise the Saturday event.

I like the idea of a 2 day cruise, but i'd be worried that it would exclude too many people and we wouldn't get a good turn out.

Maybe a combined day with another car group for a dyno or track day?

Cruise to an event like the Super Tourer V8s (Hey there is an 8 in the name) or the 4 and rotary nationals?

Cruise to <insert a remote beach here> for a bbq\picnic and a swim??

Some good comments so far, keep them coming.
I like the idea of combining with another club/group for an event.
Do you have any club/group in mine?
Maybe we could also look at a mini Nationals event/car show type of thing.
Keep the good ideas coming.
Also try and think of ways of attracting more people/cars to come and participate.
A dyno day might be able to be done in conjunction with a Magazine/workshop.

Woohoo! My car is cool again

I have been reliving the 1st half of leg 5 in my head. That was so awesome, I'm gonna have to go do it again sometime.

I may go in a few months, just thinking how well the car is feeling after this event and want to keep it that way.

Joining with another group is an awesome idea, but i think there is another rotary group called rotahavik, these guys have been rowdy in the past and i think they maybe still are. Also rotadynamatic.

dyno days and all that = cool idea.

Also to get knowledge of the group out we can put flyers at mazda dealerships to attract people to the group. ( i did make a rough copy of one for this tour but didnt get time to finish it)

The flyer idea sounds good, they could be sent out to all Rotary workshops. When you have finished the flyer, put up a picture so we can see what it looks like.
There are/were a couple of other Rotary clubs as well, FD Kai was one, don't think they are still doing anything. And MREC Auckland, again don't think they are still going.
Classic car mag usually does a listing of the car clubs around the country, so might be worth having a look at.
Although I like the idea of doing an event with other Rotary clubs, actually finding one that is still doing anything might be the hard part.
Might be worth finding another club that is fairly active and looking at doing something with them, for example the MX5 club.
Scott your car was always cool, just good that its now not to hot.

Rotary summerdrags are on the 11th of march is anybody interested in going?
Its pretty much rotary only drag racing but you can park in the pits car show style.

Im pretty sure its run by the Rota Dynamic people/lady but that club website is gone.

Was a fun day. Thanks for organising. Think 12 months waiting for another event is too long, bi-annual might be the way to go.

Yes Brettus and Rotaman now considering the turbo option on my 8. Still want a ride in one of your cars!!

I really like the idea of a driver trainer half day come barbecue afterwards.

@DVS : i'd be quite keen to go to the drags on the 11th.
