ha ha ha, sucks fuel like whoa!

If it sounds efficient, that’s because it is—sort of. Horsepower outputs are high relative to engine displacement, but they suck fuel like whoa because the combustion chamber is elongated.

Cool find. I like it when manufacturers try something different with their engines. And I love it when they stick to their unique engine....Like Mazda!

Agreed.

One of the many reasons I call the RX8, as a design exercise, an absolute marvel and the "affordable exotic." Also the only engine that makes the whole design so optimal. It would be extremely difficult, if not impossible, to get the RX8 so well-packaged using a conventional engine.
