Back in 05 when I was having major stalling/dieing issues with my 04AT, MUSA had the dealer install a second oil cooler in my car and change to using 10w30. It had no affect on any of the problems I was having with the motor. They told me at the time that because of the summer heat here in AR it was needed.

I am now on my 3rd engine and using only 5w20 with an oil change every 3-4k miles.

As for mods for your AT, there is not much you can do for hp gain other than installing a blower. I have Racing Beat intake and ramduct plus RB exhaust. These are more for sound than any minor performace I get from them. Most of the mods I have done are cosmetic in nature and not for any real performace gain.

I dont think so. You'd really think if it was needed, Mazda would've done another recall on these cars. If you're worried about temps theres a thread around here where some people cut bigger holes in the fender lining. If I remember correctly it decreased oil temps around 10 degrees.

If the weather is hot and you are looking to decrease oil temps we have Oil cooling Fan kits that can help with that, it is less expensive then buying another Oil cooler as well. It will increase the cooling capacity of the single oil cooler; that is far better if you ask me then spending another $500 for something like another oil cooler where our cooling fan kit is only $175.

Yeah not really, The Clutch pedal issue is by far the most classic example of Mazda not stepping up the game, I was talking to my local dealership the other day they have at least 3-5 pedals in stock at all times.

They say on average they will replace it 1-2 times a week and go through quite a bit a month. Imagine how many people not on these forums with these issues just your run of the mill customer.

It is all about money and numbers with them....they are a business remember this.

I see there is 2 fans.
Normally should be for MT coz MT has 2 oil cooler, what about for AT?
Do you have a kit have only 1 fan for the AT oil cooler? is that cheaper?

you will be on your 4th engine if you keep using 5w20 in weather that hot. I used to live in arkansas now i live in Texas. Every since i went to 20w50 i can run my car extremely hard and it will still be cool

The fans are sold individually.

Only way to know if you really need a second oil cooler is to get an oil temp sensor and gauge. My temps with one cooler were fine except for track use. On track with one oil cooler oil temps would get up into the 240s. Now with a second oil cooler and using synthetic oil, my oil temps never get above 210 on track.

I think the fan kit is the best cooling upgrade you can do for the AT for the $ .

After that I would recommend you mount a 2nd water radiator in the oil cooler spot instead of a 2nd oil cooler .
See my thread on it here

Just wanted to say that Paul at Mazmart and Brice at Fluid will give you great customer service. I've dealt with both of them and they are great guys!

Selfless plug for Fluid Motorsports.

If your gonna bust my ***** in a thread for mentioning an Accessport Brice expect the same from me. This is open territory.

Fixed it for you,,,
Is this is your business model Brice?

If you do anything buy MazMarts second oil cooler for the AT. That is a worthwhile investment!

So, which is more important; having more oil in the oiling system with a second oil cooler or having one fan behind one cooler?
