I guess here is my question, when you start to feather the clutch, are you doing ~50% throttle or WOT?

How to Federer the clutch:

He is the best at it, hence why it was named after him.

Hi, if you're getting massive burns when you launch at the drag strip, you're looking to feather the THROTTLE, not the clutch.

What you need to practice is maintaining a certain rpm while launch (when the wheels are spinning, before they grip). I generally launch at 4000 to 5000rpms, and I keep it there until just before the tires grip. Once they grip, you go full throttle and drive away.

Some people recommend 6000rpm, but I've only ever gotten massive wheelhops at that point.

We have independent rear suspension, which is very prone to wheel hop (or power hopping) in launching. Try not to launch it if possible..., but if you're gonna drag race, try the above method. It's A LOT harder than it sounds..., since the car pushing hard on your **** is going to make it difficult to concentrate on the rpms.

Good luck!
