I don't think 300 is the norm, even for int-x users. Several have posted whp numbers around 270 (Epi and some other guy). You can push the car to the edge to get 300... but the turbo doesn't flow enough to make it hold boost past 5-6k rpm.

The turbo upgrade? I haven't seen any numbers for it, so I don't know how much it helps.

If your turbo blows, then the upgrade might not be bad to get... but until there's published numbers, we have no idea.

guitarjunkie will be running one with clipped turbines. that *should* raise max hp a bit. he will be running the int-x though.

just to be clear, the int-x deosnt increase max hp. its more consistent and makes it easier to approach the max but the greddy kit is limited by its turbo in terms of HP.

the turbo in the greddy kit is only rated for up to 310 whp. just like any turbo, it has a set max possible power. its not easy to reach the turbos max, but once you do... nothing you do will increase that until you change the turbo.

Manuel in PR basically welded the wastegate shut, and put on an external, turned up the boost to high heaven (12+ psi) and got to about 310 whp. Beyond that it rapidly lost efficiency & turned into a heat unit. At that level it has nothing to do with the EMU, and everything to do with the maxing out of the turbo. Also the wastegate spring on the internal wastgate may be a weak point on this turbo. I agree with the posters above expect around 250-270 whp and be happy. That is the high end of this kit.

I would tune the greddy kit for about 260whp and be done with it. You can get a good, safe tune with a broad torque curve that will make your 8 a whole different car.

Speed is more than peak HP.
