Remote Keyless Entry System will not unlock Doors..LEDs??

For S2 Owners who may have upgraded some of their lights (particularly Interior) with LED's, please be aware that they may interfere with your Remote Keyless or Advance Keyless Entry/Start System..

From Mazda US Dealer M-Tips....

Remote Keyless entry system will not unlock doors

If you encounter a customer concern regarding doors not
unlocking when using the Remote Keyless Entry System, check
for possible installation of aftermarket LED light bulbs. These
bulbs may produce electrical noise that may interfere with the
operation of the Remote Keyless Entry System.

If you determine the Remote Keyless Entry System door unlock
malfunction is caused by an aftermarket accessory, inform the
customer and do not attempt any repairs to the vehicle.

Interesting, good info

Have all my interior lights replaced with some led's ... no issues thus far, but will keep this in mind.

What year is your car?

Kiss, keep it stupid simple, As ASH posted do you have any mods to the lighting, any LEDS?
First change the battery in the remote, does anything change?? do you have two transmitter cards?
What you have discribed sounds like a dead battery or a bad card.
If you do have two cards, be sure one is a lease 30 feet away from your car while you do any tests..
I have just diagnosed a keyless entry, and will be contacting Mazda on Monday. I will post the outcome of the tar and feathering.
Until then, I think you should start a new thread and log everything you find and try to fix your problem.

Fascinating.

Are we certain this only applies to S2 cars? Just looking out for the larger audience.
