Does anyone actually change their oil every 5000 miles?

Are you following the method recommended in the owner's manual for checking oil? At least the Series I requires the oil be fully warm before shutting off the engine, then a wait time before checking the dipstick. If the wait time is too short, or the oil is filled while cold to the mark, you will be overfilling! Some of the overfill is likely to end up blown back through the crankcase vent and into the intake manifold.

Dealership charged $31 bucks for oil change, tire rotation, and washed the car. Not bad.

white foam on my dip stick

when i check my oil there is white foam on my dip stick is this normal or do i have a problem/ i have ask the service dept. where i purchased the car and they say this is normal /it is a 2004 and the engine was just replaced before i bought it
