To further Team's comment, it would be very easy to check the manifold/midpipe gasket (not sure if you know what this looks like ... think of a large thin washer). Anyway, if you have a leak there, it is not too hard to check for ... it is literally behind the passenger side wheel. When the car is cold ... turn it on, and then lay on the ground by the passenger side wheel ... you should be able to see where the midpipe and the exhaust manifold meet (the flange looks like a triangle). Place your hand around there ... you would most certainly feel some air if there is a leak.
Thanks guys, good points. Will check when I am back and update

^ yea that's why i was failing to understand how the gasket would fall into the pipe. Unless he has a 3" catback it wouldn't make sense.

Yea that caught me too, maybe the shop is used to seeing the shim type gasket between the manifold and midpipe and instead is trying to use the ring gasket at the tail of the pipe? I dont know.

yup, no differences, obviously confirmed in the past through tons of users equipped with the midpipe, but just to reaffirm the curious, the BHR fits without issue using the supplied hardware on a S2 (as well as oem donut gasket if he didn't get the supplied one from previous owner)

Everything on the car is stock, i haven't installed my AEM CAI yet. BHR pipe was my first mod so OEM catback dimensions

Back from my trip, went back to the shop. enclosed are pictures of the install they did. didn't get any leaks from the seals but the plug used popped out really easily so i think the pipe expanded when hot which caused a leak at the first O2 bung.

I haven't had a chance to drive on the HWY yet when the last two CEL's came on but so far so good.

UPDATE: light came back. Ugh

enclosed is a picture of the large donut gasket that i mentioned earlier that seems too small for the diameter of the pipe, OEM was used instead since it fit

went for a drive on the hwy to re-create the circumstance that was causing the light to come on the first few times.... bad news, its back on.

thoughts on next steps if there are no leaks? bad o2? bad cat? still not installed properly?

You know my previous advise of going back to stock would be a good place to start. If code goes away, it's a bad BHR cat.

Light went out on my way to the shop. Cancelled my appt to give it some more miles to see what happens. Possible that after the leak was fixed that that battery reset that it didn't really clear th code which is why th light came back on? Now that I've driven a few miles perhaps its all good

UPDATE: I think the issue is solved, it was a leaky O2 bung cap. now that its sealed the light went away and didn't come back doing the same things that made it come on originally. thanks for the help everyone
