I just realized this is in the Series II forum. So I'm not 100% sure it's the same as the 8 prior to 09.

I can't remember the wire colors off hand. But once you pull the door panels off, you should be able to see which wires go where from the amp. Obviously a pair will run through the door jam. Find them inside the kick panels and either run new wire up to there or follow them to wherever they go. I don't know if you have the Bose system or not, and again, don't know what's different in the R3.

I'm sure I can trace it from the speakers, hopefully it won't be a huge headache.

If you don't want to remove the doors, I would use the existing wiring. I can't remember the wire color but you should be able to trace them down. I would just disconnect the stero and the amp before you start.

BTW, it really isn't difficult to remove the door and the hinges did not require adjustment after install as I removed the hinges from teh door and not the car side. Just get a friend to help and it'll go quick.

I'm loving this thread man thanks for the updates!

QUESTION:
How did you modify the aux terminal???
I want to change mine to an auxiliary / usb combo input for my Pioneer stereo but I'm not sure how to go about it...

thanks for the feedback...

It's pretty simple, really. I picked up a female usb plug that is made to add to project boxes. I got it at fry's. Then, I used the trusty dremel to make an opening for it and ran it to my H/U.
