Winter Tire Tread

I have found some Pirelli Winter 240 tires for sale. They have .25" of tread on them. Is that good or bad for this tire?

.25" of tread means 8/32nds tread, which should give you at least one winter of good winter traction. Snow traction starts to suck at 6/32nds, and hydroplaning resistance starts to suck at 4/32nds.
