I have searched and from what I have seen I shouldn't have any issue, however I still figured I would ask to be sure. I am lowered on Tein Basic coilovers (yes Basic and not Basis Z).
Wheels in question are:
TSW Nurburgring, 18x9.5+40 front and rear, tires are Federal 595's in 245/45 front and rear.

With 245 it might be ok. I know Enkei 18x9.5” +45 with 255 tires clear, but the same with +38 offset require the rear fender lip to be flattened with one of those roller tools because it will otherwise rub the tire there. So worst case you might need to do that except the narrower 245 tire will likely clear it.
I wonder how everybody fits these huge rims and tires underneath. We now have 18x8.5, +35mm on 225's and the rear is darn close to the inner fender lip. Could roll it but worry about damage to the clear coat and start rusting in FL. Car is lowered on Tein.

They have to roll the lip or more. Your issue is the wheel offset. You can fit a 10.5” wheel with +43 offset and 255 tire and it will clear the lip. Wider tire or less offset and then it hits. It can look close when static too, but when the suspension moves up it tilts the top of the tire in (camber gain) .
If you heat it while rolling the lip and take your time the paint on the lip won’t crack.

Thank you for the pics and info - I am really surprised at how relatively narrow the Federal 595's are in comparison to Sumitomos! I thought for sure that a 275 tire would overhang the edge of the wheel lip significantly since the Sumitomo 255's slightly did themselves - and an extra 20mm of tire width should have made a significant difference, but seeing your pics, I guess they are just built or measured a little different. Does anyone know if it's normal for 275's to barely seem wide on a 9.5" rim? Are the 275 Federals built narrow, or is it that the 255 Sumitomos are built wide?

depending which Sumitomos they are, they the more aggressive ones have a wide tread footprint.
though Federal 595RSRR's tend to run wide as well in comparison to similar sized tires like Nitto NT05s

Might not be the place for this but need to know if any special offset to get for 17" rims.
Need to find a set(hopefully cheap) for a set of winter tires i have here r17/265/??. The snow doesnt like my summer tires.
Or does anyone have any suggestions for winter tires that fit stock rims and arent an arm and a leg. As i have my stock rims spare atm.

looking for cheap 17"....Most around 40 to 50 at 8" wide will work easily. Just try one on the front to see if they clear the brakes

good snow tires are awesome too, don't cheap out especially if you care about not crashing or avoiding someone else who is in the process of crashing
any suggestions of good ones for stock rims? brand wise?

Tirerack thinks they will fit 2009+ in +48 so I doubt you'll have a problem.

wondering if 245/45/18s(maxima tires) fit fine on stock rims? or are they too wide? trying to get winter tires fast but lil tight on cash and can get this size pretty cheap if it fits.

The tires won't for sure. 245's are too narrow for a 9.5. You want a 275 ideally.
The wheels should fit, but will have some poke. A functional amount of negative camber, and a fender roll should solve that.

275's will be way too fat in the front. I am lowered on S-Techs and Koni struts and have the exact rim specs you are asking about. I have 255/35's and a fender roll on all 4 corners. The fender roll may not have been necessary on the front and I am like a millimeter from rubbing on the fender liners at full turn. 265/35's will fit too but you will probably have some minor rubbing on the fender liners/turn signals at full turn. With 265's the fender roll in the rear is necessary, of course everything I have mentioned is if you plan to stay within stock camber specs.

When I bought my RX8 back in 2013 it was running 18x9.5" Axis Halo wheels on all 4 corners with Falkien 235/40 in the rear and 225/40 in the front. They were very stretched and looked like utter **** IMO. I later got Konig Lace wheels, but they were the same size (18x9.5") and eventually put 245/40's on the rear and moved the 235/40's on the front. Then I put 255/45's all around for about 2 years because I wanted more sidewall. Now I have some 265/40's on the front, and soon to have 275/40's on the rear. Here are some pics of my various tires over the last 3-4 years so you can see how they look on 18x9.5" wheels.
How much camber could I do without affecting handling? The way everyone disses the stance community around these forums (which TBH is fine by me since I'll take function over form any day) I assumed it was zero, but would one or two degrees for the sake of fitting wider tires cause problems? Since the whole RX series of cars in general tends to focus on handling and cornering, should we just generally avoid camber? What are your thoughts on this?

Means nothing if we don't know the offset of the rim, what were the offsets of each of those? Also you don't look lowered in those photos?
Also a few degrees of negative camber in order to fit some fatter tires IMO is no big deal, especially for street driven applications.

Most of the people that race their RX-8's aim to max out front camber. I'm running close to -2.5° camber on each side in the front at 13.5" ride height.

Also both sets of wheels I have had were +45 offset, and they are on all-stock suspension in the pics posted above.
Currently I have 265/40's in front and the (soon-to-be-gone) 255/45's in the rear. 18x9.5" wheels, +45 offset but all 4 are running 20mm spacers so I guess it's technically more like a +25 offset, effectively. TEIN S.TECH springs and KONI Yellow struts. Rolled/gutted fenders. No rubbing or scrubbing whatsoever.

Gutted fenders meaning you took all of the fender liners out from up front? Just curious as I want to put 265/35's all around but I know I'd be rubbing (probably only slightly) on the fender liners in the front and you are running taller tires and 5mm more offset than I am.
Thanks

TBH honest I sort of gutted them - I cut the fender well interiors into smaller segments (centered around the mounting holes so I could still securely mount them) that still serve to cover the crucial access areas in order to prevent mud/water/etc. from being slung into the headlight areas, back into the side-skirt area, etc. - I mostly just gutted them up top. I don't personally notice significantly increased road noise from this, but I also have a growly GReddy cat-back combined with a BHR catless midpipe, so I probably wouldn't be able to hear it anyway.
It looks horrible on the inside, but can't really be seen from the outside and nothing rubs anymore (although it took a lot of experimentation to to get there).
