looking at getting new, and wider tires guys. My car is stock as of now, but will be lowered on springs in a month or so, and im just gonna put my 225 45 18's on my wifes cobalt ss since they are pretty new themselves. Whats the widest tire I can put on my stock 8 wheels? I was thinking 245 40 18's? Thanks in advance fellas

yes, but Id like the extra width if possible. I can get a 255/35 and it not be any taller, but a 1/2' wider for the same price. Wont that work?

Look at the 255/40/18 size and see what width of wheel it suggests......

It's the 7th one going down and it's the part that looks like width-width

Most tire places will only go so wide on a narrow wheel. They don't risk the liability. They will tell you what you can and can't do. You can ask them.

IMHO, I wouldn't go over 245. I had 245 on my stockies. I have 275 now and I love the wide look.

Will this fit without any fender mods? Looking for a bit of stretch, any input appreciated. Going to being running Bilstein PSS9s with 1.5" front drop and 1" rear drop from stock

Work Emotion Cr Kai
18x9.5 +20 with 235/40/18

I was looking at the CR's or possibly the XT-7's either in 8.5 or 9.5. I have a thread going that is a few posts down about appearance and performance since I am going to autox my car as well.

With that said, on stock ride height, that would be perfectly fine. (too thin of a wheel imo for a 9.5). Though not sure how much difference that 1.5" drop will make it.

THere is also a cool link in the thread that will help you with specs and things so you can check it out yourself.

What would you suggest? Rolling the fenders? Or different tire specs?

Alright I'll shoot....

Wanting to do 18x8 wheels with 25mm spacers. Tire size is 225/45. Using S-Tech springs so drop = F 1.4"/R 0.7"

I would do smaller spacers than 25mm personally

Thanks. I'll either go with smaller spacers or a 50mm offset wheel.
