Considering tilt has run 19x11.5 with close to teen offsets i'm pretty sure someone can sacrifice width n' go for gusto on offsets. Thing is people pride themselves too much in the package deal of having both WIDE wheels w/LOW offsets.

Imo, someone could run neg offsets on a stock body (rolled, pulled n' shaved) but they'll have to be like 9wide or something. 10 wide would be ambitious...but not impossible...

Jumping to quick to conclude to settle. Here let me help you a bit, same price as Rotas, much better quality rims. Would look really nice with a 265/35, just roll your fenders. He is local to you as well, so you may be able to save on shipping.

I do not approve of that suggestion. I assume stock suspension and that would look hilarious

I guess I was assuming he was dropped already, isn't everyone with an 8 dropped Either way, it's not a bad deal, if he is willing drop his car as well. Your right though, would look funny as hell at stock height.

May the gurus spare the whips:
18x8.5 +47 front, 18x9.5 +38 rear
yokohama s-drive tires, 205/40/18 front, 225/35/18 rear, tires have camber wear.
bolt pattern is 5x114.3

work emotions, will it fit and to what extent will modifications be needed (ie. fenders). Have coils.

^so, what spec tires do you recommend and which brand do you prefer?
As far as rims go, is this going to work? Wondering how much its going to effect the overall ride.

They will fit and will need spacers to look good. Spacers and tires depends on the look you are going for, fender mods, and camber/ride height

I found a set of mint Work VS-SS in

18x8 +33 F
18x9 +33 R

I am on stock suspension. Currently I have different 18x8.5 +45 rims with 245/40 tires. I was looking to swap the tires over since I already have them and plenty of tread.

Are the offsets too much if I install coilovers next summer and lower it? Anyone know? Thanks!

Powdercoating costs you another 4 to 5 bills if done by a professional. Not bad, and you can get any color you want. Something to keep in mind when looking for a used set.

18x9.5 +15 all around. 245/40/18 tires all around (MB BATTLES)

My 8 will be sitting on Tein S-Tech springs with Koni Yellows

Will I need to roll the fenders?

Any other recommendations will be greatly appreciated!

^ that plus a performance alignment and some more negative camber. It would look good though.

Thanks for the helpful replies guys! I figured it would fit, but the added work to get it proper shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

Will I have any issues turning with that setup once I get my fenders rolled?

If you don't, you are doing it wrong. I honestly don't think it will look good at all with just an s-tech drop.

same here, coilovers are the way to go... konis + springs can run $700 and you can get coils for $3-400 more.

Recently I had a message from someone on a spring drop who has 18x9 +30 with your suggested tire size and he only has a roll. He is still hitting the bumper tab at hard cornering, although he doesn't have an aggressive camber setup and tracks his car. So if you do go with a lower coilover setup, you will more than likely have to bust out the dremel to get it right. You just got a take off as much as you need once you get your car all setup the way you want it. You find out where it rubs, then remove, simple trial and error.

As far as turning, that is a seperate issue, you mean turning in general, or performance, because if it's performance you're after, I wouldn't do this setup to begin with.

Hey,
Just bought an 05 RX8 GT. I had a civic with 18" wheels with 225/40/18 tires with +40 offset. I noticed they recommend 225/45/18. The wheels and tires and pretty much brand new. Is it alright to put them on rx8 or would you recommend I buy new tires.
