Yes I do understand width and offset and tire numbers but I don't understand much about fitment and a lot of other people here don't either which is why this thread is here.

You are so far off from what fits that I don't believe you know what those numbers mean. https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-wheels-tires-brakes-suspension-55/how-pick-out-wheels-rx8-232206/

That was a great post, but I still don't really understand how I was so far off? Cause the wheels will stick out too much? Tires are too high?

I'm thinking of running te37 reps but the high offsets aren't concave enough for me.

well i guess thats why im trying to figure this out? i dont see why i cant get a little advice.

maybe a better question would be whats the lowest offset that i can run at stock height with 10.5s in the back and 9.5s in the front or maybe 9.5s all around? whats the lowest offset i can go if i drop it, add spacers, roll the fenders, etc..?

i read your whole thread, i understood all of it before i read it but if reading was all that needed to be done THEN THERE WOULD BE NO POINT IN THIS THREAD. THIS IS FOR PEOPLE THAT DONT UNDERSTAND FITMENT TO ASK THE PEOPLE THAT DO UNDERSTAND WHAT WILL FIT AND HOW TO MAKE WHAT FIT.

would you like me to read your thread again? none of that explains to me why a 18x14 -50 wont fit on our cars.

fenders are why it won't fit. Your car is in the way. You should have understood that because you know the relationship between offset and wheel width. What the **** else would you think would be hindrance to those wheels? A magic force field?

I didn't say the fender lip was in the way. I said the fender. Distinct difference.

Think about what spacers would do in this regard......seriously stop posting and just read/think a little bit.

And remove the bumper tab in the rear. Wheel will still be beyond the fender though.

Alright. i was looking at RX8inSTL's and the NW guy featured on stance nation and they almost have the same set up except their both lowered on coilovers. their setups are nice. You think the same setup will look fine on Tein S tech? or make the jump to coils.

You can fit 275/35/18 no problem. That's pretty much the most common wheel size for the rx8. RPF1 to be particular

So discount tires has a sale going on right now. I'm thinking about getting 17x9" rims. The ones I like are only available in a +27 offset though. Will that fit with stock suspension and 245/40/17 tires?

It's either that or the 17x8 +42 which should have no problems fitting.

I don't really care how flush it looks. Just looking for a 17" wheel for the track.

Purely track, +27 is a bit low. Look for 40-45

18X9.5 +22 wrapped in 245's (F+R)

or

18X9.5 +38 wrapped in 245's (F+R)

lowered on coilovers, around the same height as J8635621... maybe a bit lower

currently running -2 camber all around with stockers+25mm spacers.

I'm over an inch lower now. +22 will require bumper tab removal and rolled fenders. +38 will be sunken. I'm at +28 and it fits about how I like (with 265/35)
