most common setup: you can go to 245/35/19 up front and clear it easy. the rear you can run 275/30/19 and it will clear with a fender roll for sure.

go for the +42 for both.

you can squeeze in a 285/30/19 tire in the rear and it should fit as well with a fender roll.

to stay safe with the tire diameter and in range of the speedometer, you will either want to stay stock 225/45/18 or do 245/40/18.

I have been looking at the Work Emotion CR-KAI in 18". I am not very good with tire sizes. So my question being I have recently purchased a new set of tires for my factory wheels however I was thinking about picking up those wheels listed above. What would be the proper wheel width to fit 225/45 R18 tires?


Also what would be the offset I would want for those wheels

What's the lowest offset wheels I can go for 245/40/18 tires front and back with no rubbing? I will be purchasing KW V3's in a week or 2. I plan to lower the car no more than an inch.

Also, anyone know if FD RX-7 16" wheels clear RX-8 brakes? Wouldn't mind using them for the winter.

if you don't plan on tucking the tires, super low offset wheels will look stupid.

 

I actually am not looking for super low offset wheels. I just wanted to know what the safe offset range would be so that I know my options.

tucking tires and tucking wheels is 2 different things. When someone puts low offset wheels but doesn't slam their car, it will look like a 4x4. My friend's 240sx looked like this and it looked ridiculous.

Tucking a high offset wheel is ugly too, makes the car look like a sunken ship. This is especially true of the rx8 with the huge fender flares, although I haven't really seen any slammed ones here...

I'm looking to purchase SSR Competition 18x9 offset +31 with 245/40/18 mounted on them. Will the wheels/tires stick out with that offset? Should I be looking for wheels higher offset?

I'd like to try them on first, but my buddy who's selling them is on the other end of the continent.

they won't stick out. It'll look good, even better with 20mm spacers .

 

I'm trying to fill out the wheel wells a little more, I'm thinking Enkei Racing RP03s or 05s 19" w/ Kuhmo Ecsta SPTs. The specs I'm looking at so far are:

RP03s:

19X8.5 +42mm w/ 6.37" backspacing all around

RP05s:
19x8.5 +40mm w/ 6.41" backspacing all around

Kumho Ecsta SPTs:
225/40R19

So, ONE: will these fit?

TWO: will these fill the wheel wells w/o rub on a stock RX8? if not. Suggestions please.

I'm looking to get some T.i. 5 wheels (check wheelfire.com to view them, they are black w/ the prism lip like the Konig Afterburners) when I get my RX-8. I want 19"s, as thats what my SS is currently wearing (19"x8" Axis Mods). Anywho, will 19"x9.5"F/19"x10.5"R fit when lowered on Sprint springs (2" drop)? I'll run a low as possible profile tire if neccesary.

Not sure of the offset as of right now, but i'll look into it. Also, I have no problem in stretching a tire to delete some of the sidewall in order to make it fit.

true it won't fill the well (as in flush), but it will fit.

Hey guys, I'm interested in a wheel/tire combo that I'm not able to test-fit on the car first so maybe you can help. I've read through this thread & even found some very similar width/offsets, but they didn't answer all of my questions.

Wheel/Tires specs:
Fronts: 20x8.5 +41 w/ 235/35/20s
Rears: 20x10 +42 w/ 275/30/20s

Questions:
Maybe a dozen posts above me someone asked about these widths/offsets & was told they'd work, so from there...
1) Is fender rolling going to become a necessity?
2) Since the car is currently all stock, will I need to lower the car & run camber to keep the wheels from sticking out?
3) What do you think? Yes/No? They're Work Equips.

on an 8.5? You can go between 15-45...

 

those tire sizes might be a bit off, and the wheels a bit heavy, but you will be able to fit the fronts easily, the rear will require a roll/pull. The wheels won't "stick out".
