I think it's the sidewall that's causing the rubbing.

45 sidewall is freakin' tall considering how much you're dropped.

tho the fender can handle the +30 offset, the liner will not permit the square tires. Try a lower sidewall (possibly 35) and roll the fenders flat (if you haven't already)

the fenders are rolled, and yes i was thinking about going to a 40 sidewall, but i already have a whole set of 45's that i would like to use. i can get new springs for cheaper than a whole new set of tires so if i cant make this fit, i'll just get new springs

Are you using stock struts? if so they are to soft for aggressive drops

I got 19x8.5 +38 235/35/19 (FITS FINE, NO MODDING DONE TO FRONT) 19x10 +36 265/30/19 (HAD TO ROLL FENDERS A BIT, AND CURRENT JUST NIBBLES THE PLASTIC PEICE OF THE BUMPER)

+20 in the rear you will need a pull, so stick with +35 if dont mind rolling, And u should be able to pull off 35 in the front depending on tire i would think.

Some people tell me that I should keep the front and rear wheels the same and others tell me making the rear width bigger looks better, is this true? Also it looks like I've settled on:

F: 19x9 + 30 (I can go from +3 to +73)
R: 19x10 + 30 (I can go from -10 to +86)
- You mentioned +20 would need a pull and +35 may need a roll (so in between would mean I wouldn't have to modify anything?)
F Tires: 235/35/19
R Tires: 245/35/19

If I should keep both front and rear the same I'd probably go for ...
F/R: 19x9.5 + 30 (I can go from -3 to +79)
F/R Tires: 245/35/19

Basically I'm looking for the "in-between" of performance and looks because I will be taking it to the track once in a while, but I am going to be using it as my main car (and maybe in the winter as well - seeing as how I live in Calgary the winters can get pretty bad ... we got a **** load of snow today even).

Also, seeing as how I'm new to the whole "car" scene in general, I would like it so I would only need to make ever so slight modifications or if possible none, to the car itself.

Just wanna let you know your rears are gonna be really stretched. I have 265/30/19 and im stretched, so 245s will be quite stretched. if thats what your looking for then thats fine, but knowing canadian roads man, with your rim stickin out that much, all your looking for is headaches, u hit a pothole, your done.

245 is not "stretched" on 9.5 and 265 is definitely not stretched on a 10" rim.
That picture is 9.5 +38 with 245/40 Nitto Invo. As far as what looks better with regard to staggered wheels, it's an opinion type of thing so look up pictures. Now I have close to the 9.5 +30 with 245s you are talking about and it looks good. I'm lowered a bit with some camber though.

Getting a new motor put in so I can't. Sorry. As soon as I get it back, I'll definitely take some new pictures. It's killer having to drive a damn Hyundai Accent without power windows, power locks, or cruise. I miss my car so much.

You know, I was shopping for a wheel package for a while. I read every post in this thread and many more. I didnt really understand why some fit and some wouldnt until I read one simple explanation on some other site somewhere. Here it is.
Stock factory RX-8 18x8 +50 225/45R18
The offset numbers start at 50. If you go +45, its only 5mm difference in a positive direction... outward I believe. The farther you go from 50, the more its offset. If you buy a +20, its quite a ways from 50, therefore they will be offset outwards 30mm. If you add a wider rim, it will look wider, and stick more towards the fender. If you couple it with a big tire, wide and high, you are getting into the fender. I found a tire size calculator online here http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCal...?action=submit
You fill in the stock size, and the sizes you are looking at, and it tells you the size difference. Width, circumference, even how it will affect your speedometer. It worked for me. I have 18x8 +45 wheels now with 225/45-18s on the front, and 245/40-18s on the rear. The backs look way wider than the fronts, fit nicer closer to the fender, but are the same diameter within .5" of stock size.

Or you could have just gotten 245/40 all around like most people and then put a $5 set of 5mm spacers on the back and retained your ability to rotate tires.

Or I could run what I have and have better looks than the same width tires just spaced out. I really like the rears wider than the fronts. Not just faked with a $5 set of spacers. Who cares if I can rotate then or not...

Lol I'm not saying you made a bad choice. Do what makes you feel good. Just saying that's not the best setup for handling and you lose the ability to rotate tires. If you wanted to put 20" daytons on your car, I wouldn't call you stupid but I damn sure wouldn't copy you. PS: not rotating your tires will adversely affect tire life so you should care at least a little bit. PPS: Saying spacers is faking is sort of ironic considering what you did (faking staggered wheels).

Now thats funny. I faked staggered wheels by actually running wider tires on the rims? Looks and sounds real enough to me. But whatever.
OMG tell me it isnt so! Adversely affect my tire life? Crap... now I may have to umm what... replace my T1Rs after 30000 km instead of 40000? Uh oh. What have I done? And I can prolly still rotate them... just have to buy some $5 spacers when I put the narrower ones on the back. Hehe. Just pokin fun dude... dont take it seriously. I like the look, I dont race it so my handling limitations wont be noticeable, got a few bucks in the bank so not too worried about replacing tires every two yrs, and really in my mind, if you take a narrow tire, space it out further than the front, it just looks like a narrow tire spaced out. My opinion.

Again, do whatever you want. For the record I never said run a narrow tire spaced out. I said run the wide tire all around. Staggered wheels involve actually having wider wheels in the back iirc.

super noob here.....curious if the following will fit and how much of a flush fitment i will achieve.

18x9.5 wheels with +30 offset
265/40/18 hankook ventus v12 evo k110 rubber

stock springs now but will be lowered on tein s techs (1.2 front/0.8 rear drop i believe)
i'm not against rolling fenders either if its required to make this work.

would it be a better fit if i did +35 offset and/or ran 265/35/18 tires?

any advice is greatly appreciated!
