scarslett: for the offset you can go any where between +35 to +45 w/no problem. I'm currently running +35 on 18x8.5 all around w/245/40 w/no fender modification on a lowered application. Pic's are floating around some where on this site.

mazdarx8_04: Both will fit w/265/30's (tight tho depending on drop). w/a roll and some camber. I prefer the 18's though because they're more practical and inexpensive when it comes to tires. Apparently there's a pretty noticable price difference. That is unless you really wanna go for looks n' have the cash to burn then the 19's would be my choice.

Look up the million people with 18x9.5 +45 RPF1. Damn near the same thing. or A. Mair's RP03 are exactly that size/offset but he is lowered.

Some new goodies came in:

Name: gramlights2.jpg
Views: 53
Size: 71.1 KB

Name: gramlights1.jpg
Views: 55
Size: 65.5 KB

17.05 lbs each

Gram Lights in 17x9.5 +22....thinking 255/40/17 tires all around. This will be a race setup so want to have lots of grip. Anyone tried anything wider than that in non staggered setup?

Thoughts?

Thoughts??

...I really....really...really like those. There's only a select few that have 17's that i like but w/those specs it should look really good. Get em' on the car - can't wait to see em'.

I love the wheels. You should check out tiltmode43 if you want to see wide/non stagger/low offset. 10.5 +15 with 265s I think

Thanks man...I really really really like them too...always wanted these...but they are toooooo expensive for my taste...finally pulled a trigger on a deal i couldn't refuse....

yes I will be test fitting them shortly. Deciding on tires. but pretty sure that I will go with a 255/40/17.

265/40/17 is hard to find...and i am still not sure how it will work with racing.

yeah his stuff is insane...but running those setups on race tracks/autoxs may kill the sidewalls fast.

god damn hes got some beautiful setups......

^255's will work fine on those buy why not try to find a set of 275/40/17. They are very easy to find and if you don't mind rolling your fenders, then they will fit easily.

Not sure about running a 275 wide tire up front though...with high speed turning and all. And I don't want to run a staggered 275 rear and 255 front. Car has power but I like balance and the ability to flip wheels around for even wear.

Also, though i am not 100% sure yet, I may run R compounds, or something with that kind of grip.

Decisions, decisions....

I run 275's all around at the track. Have been to CMP, as well as Roebling Road. No problem with running 275's all around. The car loves it

no ****...lol. I wasn't sure on the fronts though. Steering doesn't feel too heavy?

My fenders are rolled already...and i drop the car very aggressively. So how much did you have to cut up your front fenders?

I'm on 18x9.5 +45 and I did not have to roll fenders at all. With the +22 up front, you'll have some fender problems as well as some scrub radius problems, the centerline of the wheel will be too far out from the shock. If you were looking for a dedicated track wheel, should have looked for a +48 offset instead.

yeah I definitely hear ya on that one. It was a deal I couldn't pass up, and I am pretty sure I will be happy with it. I know I am not going with the most perfect racing setup wheel here, but it sure will be beat the crap out of and enjoyed.

I will do some measurements with a 275 wide tire...its tempting. Just not sure if its worth the trouble in butchering up the fenders in my case.

so TopGear if we get 18x9.5 +45 front and back, what tires would look good / perform well on those, without having to do crazy cambering or roll fenders, etc.?

reason being after i spend huge $$$ for light rims and nice meat to put on them i dont want to pay for body mods and have weird handling problems

Hey I got skipped... Any more input?
18x9.5 with a +30 offset all around. Tires are 225 by 35 in the front and 245 by 40 in the rear.. Am I going to have a problem with stock ride height? Fender rolling necissary? Thanks!

With the 18x9.5 +45 (Popular Enkei RPF1 fitment) and a 275/35/18, You shouldnt have any rubbing problems no matter how low you are, if you have at least -1.4 degrees or more of camber. Which is just about what the factory settings are set at.

Tires that look good/perform well would be the Nitto NT05, which is what i'm currently running now. If you don't heavily track and just use them for more street, the Falken Azenis RT-615 will be fine for you. Also check out the Kumho XS, and the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec's.

With some negative camber you shouldnt have to roll fenders in the front, but you will in the back. Over big bumps on the road you will rub.

Why run 225's tho? TheJew is running 18x10 +30 w/225's and he cleared w/some extra space. I think he could push 255(maybe 265's) w/some camber especially if he stays at stock ride height. btw, booo staggered tire fitment.

I'm getting a used package so the 225s are already on there.. So thejew runs 18x10 with 30 offset and doesn't rub? I'm just a newby on the negative camber process, I was hoping they would sqeeze in with maybe some fender liner trimming.... I am at stock ride height

yeah w/stock ride height you can fit damn near anything unless you're in full load (at which point i'm uncertain of because i can't remember what oem spring rates are or what it was like having stock ride height)

but cheah, 18x10 +30 w/225's work w/space to spare. You can get a roll just to be on the safe side to ensure your tire doesn't grab the fender for whatever reason.
