18x9.5 +38 standard tyres (guessing 275/35/18)

how low can the front/rear drop with no rub or rolling etc needed

TopGear8 has 18x9.5 +45 with 275/35/18 and was dropped 2-1/2 inches with no rubbing. With +38 you might rub a little bit in the rear depending on how low you are.

I'm dropped .8" in the rear with 18x9.5 +38, and I'm willing to bet the 275s will rub. People have run 265s without rubbing though on unrolled fenders. Depends on your camber though.

******* FAIL.....

at that point i might as well go ahead and look at 19x9.5 and make them fit.....

eh, well perhaps i'll search a bit and see if i could get away with 265/275 on MS springs(.75")

^Yeah your going to rub. I'm on 18x9 +35 with 275/35's in the rear. -2.2 degrees of camber, Fender height is at 26 inches, and I rub going around hard corners and over some hard bumps.

I thought that was 18x10 +15 w/275's? Lol...

18x10 +18 can fit nicely if you've got the right stretch and fender work (doesn't have to be extreme, its really a balance somewhere between how much stretch vs how much fender work)

that would be awesome, at least in giving me a good ballpark of what i'd need to do. is that the size of your current work wheels?

my sched's hectic this week, but pm me if you're going to be at any meets or to one of the adams kart track events and maybe we can link up there.

i'm more interested in getting the tires + suspension setup firstly i guess... so ideally probably 18/35/255 or 18/40/255

driving the car is pretty new to me, so i'm not exactly sure where i stand as far as alignment. my previous car was , -2.75˚front, -1.5˚ rear with custom LCAs to correct roll centers and front knuckles. Considering the rx8 has similar rear multilink i could venture to say it might be similar, but i haven't tracked this car yet so who knows.

after looking at some pics it looks like i may need to run more camber in the rear than i'd like. what's your alignment at right now tiltmode?

I'm going to try to make it to Adam's this saturday morning, if I can find my helmet or one to borrow. Otherwise yeah we'll just figure it out some time. Current spec on rear Works, yes.

Hey guys,

I have a VR '05 GT and I really like the way that the Rota P45-r looks on our 8's. Will this rim fit without any modifications? Is it heavier (which means less gas mileage and loss of handling, etc...)?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, can I get a similar looking rim (to the P45-r) which won't affect my gas mileage, handling, etc...? And also one that will fit on like the OEM rims without any modifications.

Sorry for the plethora of questions, but I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to rim sizes, offsets, etc! lol

Thanks and God bless.

Ben.
